RULES
By Event


1st Event, Pulaski

  1. All tackle must be within the New York state fishing regulations.
  2. Each competitor must have on his person at all times: the rules of the contest, at least one full beer (can), a device to make a hole in the beer can.
  3. Most fish wins the contest.
  4. Any fish landed is counted.
  5. Contest time will begin at 9:00am until 5:00pm. with a one hour
    break for lunch at 12:00pm.
  6. No drift boats allowed.
  7. All contestants will fish within 100yds. of all other contestants.
  8. Name calling and trash talking is strongly encouraged.
  9. Each person must supply his own bait and tackle, any borrowing from another contestant will result in a penalty.
  10. A penalty is a SHOTGUN.
  11. False accusation of another contestant will result in a penalty i.e not having the proper gear, questioning somebodies gear, etc.
  12. Any fish landed counts.
  13. In case of a tie, the largest fish wins.
  14. Sobriety will not be tolerated!!
  15. Everyone must partake in the ceremonial shot of whiskey to kick off the tournament.
  16. Any miss or hooking and not landing is shotgun.



EVENT II: Battle on the Pines

10:30 am to 10:00 pm

Pa.'s Lycoming County: Big Pine & Little Pine combo- Stretch TBA by event Chairman on that day.


SPRING CREEK: 3RD EVENT

The rules of this contest shall be as follows:


4th Event, Sulphur Showdown

Dates: May 29 & 30, 1999
Location: Fishing Creek, Clinton County and Spring Creek, Centre County

Scoring
1st Place...5 points - Most fish caught, total for both days. Must be a trout (brown, rainbow, hybrid) or char (brook trout) to count, any size.
2nd Place...2 points - Largest fish, minimum size is 15 inches.

If nobody catches a 15+ inch fish, the 1st place contestant receives all 7 points.

Communication  - All contestants must have a two-way radio on their person at all times. Contestants shall provide their "handle" prior to wetting a line or one will be chosen for them. At this time, only the Tobash's are handle-less.

Contestants shall use radios to notify others of their progress, specifically, when a fish is caught or when a shotgun is completed.

The Shane Rule  - A contestant (the shooter) may challenge other contestants (the hunted) ahead of them in the fish count to a shotgun. Shooter to provide necessary provisions.

Options for hunted:

  1. The hunted accepts the challenge - Both do a shotgun. Failure to complete the shotgun results in a deduction of one fish.
  2. The hunted does not accept the challenge - The wuss loses one fish from his total. The shooter will add this fish to his total upon completion of his shotgun.
Restrictions
  1. The hunted cannot be challenged again until they have caught another fish.
  2. If a shooter has 0 fish at the time he challenges and he does not complete his shotgun, he will be disqualified from this event and will be shot, with a gun.

The Tow Rule  - Fish must be hooked in the mouth with a "fly" to be counted. Fly rods must be used. Live bait, dead bait, spinners, etc. are prohibited.

The Mike Rule  - Any pertinent fishing information, e.g., type of bait used, gear information, drift, etc., must be provided upon request. Anyone caught violating this rule will be drowned, preceded by completion of a shotgun. Their fishing equipment becomes property of the inquisitor. Their wallet, money and other personal effects go to the Event Chairman.

The Gar Rule  - Fish must be touched to count towards your total. Tales of large fish that were fought for hours at a time and not landed will not be tolerated.

The Keith Rule  - Anybody who does not make this event is to be ridiculed and vilified with regularity.  Anybody making this event will merely be ridiculed with regularity.
