Nathra Kyssa -Doom

This is another of the growing range of CDs recorded and released locally by some of the Rock Ape regulars. The pool of talent is growing! This one is primarily constructed, written and executed by one man, Kris. Overall this is a classy effort, recorded on a home PC, Kris does all the guitars and vocal arrangements by himself and gets another friend also called Chris to supply the drum and keyboard arrangements. Epic, grim and down tuned doom are the flavour of this one, huge and mournful songs, exploring hate, sorrow and regret. The pace of this is slow and sludgey occassionally stepping up the pace for some mid paced black metal type stuff but over all painfully slow. The title "Doom" says it all. If you like early works by bands like My Dying Bride, Cathedral or Paradise Lost this would be a rewarding listen for you!

To get this CD you'll have to ask Kris for one, with only two members in the band at present its not likely they'll be playing live any time soon but if you ask around this one's worth the effort!
