Necrotardation Comic Book!
This comic book / CD package is a stroke of genius, Necrotardation are a fictional black metal band from Australia, who after hearing the new wave of European black metal (burzum etc...) decide to form their own band, and subsequently release a couple of underground cult records and regional tour of Australia. Like any good black metal band this ends in total disaster which is chronicled in this publication. If you can imagine a black metal version of "Spinal Tap" then this is for you! This much needed comic takes the piss out of a genre that takes itself way too seriously, the author obviously well versed in heavy metal trivia does not pull any punches. The artwork is top notch, painfully detailed. If you like comics and can laugh at the genre we all love, this one is one of, if not the funniest thing I've ever read...
The CD package is a compilation of bands paying tribute to the immense musical legacy that Necrotardation have left behind them. Again the brains behind this have done well with bands such as "Misery", "Omnium Gatherum", "Iron Sausage", "Miscreation" and "Murder" all paying homage to a band that has obviously influenced so many. There's some good stuff, some crap, but it's all funny, there's even some animation on the CD to watch... 5 years of work went into this package and it shows. BUY IT!
