Place: SWAF Hoorn
Date: Fr. 13/2
Bands: Ripoff/ Caffeine Shot

Friday the 13 th was never more lucky! The bands RIPOFF and Caffeine Shot rocked on stage of Swaf Hoorn! If you wasn't there you missed some great music. But these bands proved to have potential, so there will be a next chance. Caffeine Shot will be playing in Manifesto Hoorn (20-2) and for new gigs of RIPOFF visit there site (www.ripoff.tk).

RIPOFF

A band called 'Noise' started performing on schoolnights. This was without nowadys leading guitar player Thijs. Noise started with: Mark (drums), Bas (guitar/vocals) and Niek (Bass guitars). After a short break and a new leading guitar player (Thijs) they renamed the band in RIPOFF. This band showed during there gig in Swaf, that they have a great future before them!

RIPOFF had come all the way from Utrecht to let there powerfull songs hear. The band amazed the Swaf crowd with there great perfomance. The band operated as a good olied sound machine. The bandmembers knew what there were doing and the songs were well componed. Caffeine Shot couldn't had a better band to warm up the audience. The bandmembers of RIPOFF are very talented. Mark is a great drummer, Thijs is really gifted as leading guitar player, Niek has some beautiful bass solo's and Bas has a great voice and combines this with well controled guitar play.

Caffeine Shot

'De Hoornse punkboys' are becomming big stars in the north. This time they had a nice suprise for the crowd. Anneke (guest singer in Swaf) was singing the song 'Skunk Revolution'. Jarco told me that they were working on a new song 'Stranded at the parkinglot'. Just like 'Junkie song' a ska song. That is in my opinion great news, cause I think without a doubt 'junkie song' the best song on there repetoire. Afcourse there hardcore songs are nice too, but in 'junkie song' the lyrics were much better audibly. That was the only problem of the Swaf gig. The singing was hardly hard enough. If they can fix this problem next week it will be an even bigger party.
Caffeine Shot playied like they are playing for years and years together. No more problems like in the beginning. They are becomming without a doubt more proffessional every gig. So I'm looking forward to there gig in Manifesto Hoorn next week (20-11 red).
