What's new with spareChange productions?

September 1st, 2006:

Swashbuckling Scoundrels and their Swords of Steel has become Scurvy Musketeers of the Spanish Main and hit the shelves this August. 120 cards of bloodthirsty swashbuckling and derring-do. Ask for it at your local gaming store!
Gunslinging Gouchos from Sarsparilla Gulch (working title) is in development and set to release Summer of 2007. Also in development, hopefully in time for a Christmas 2007 release is Grave Robbers from Outer Space 3: Attack of the Suburban Slashers (Holiday Special!).
The Crow has finally been released in the United States, but unfortunately it is not available in Canada. Anyone in Canada who wants it will have to order it on line from a US source. Alternately you could contact sales@necaonline.com and tell them you want the game to be distributed in Canada.
In other, non-gaming news, spareChange productions head honcho, Stephen Tassie has been focussing on his work as a stand-up comics and actor. For details about that, please visit stevetassie.com or myspace.com.

January 5th, 2006:

Berserker Halflings from the Dungeon of Dragons is out. It was later than expected but is now in stores. The Crow has yet to make it to the shelves. NECA, the publisher of the game, has had the protype for some time now and is either sitting on it or is spending a heck of a lot of time making sure the art department gets it right. I wish I knew which it was! Swashbuckling Scoundrels and their Swords of Steel is currently in play testing and will be the next B-Movie release in time for Summer 2006.

April 24th, 2005:

Here is the latest from the spareChange productions development desk. Maiden Munching Monsters from the Mountains of Myst has become Berserker Halflings from the Dungeon of Dragons and is due out this Summer, just in time for GenCon Indy.
Swashbuckling Scoundrels and their Swords of Steel and Gunslingin' Gauchos from Sarsparilla Gulch are still in the pipeline, mostly complete and mostly tested. Productions dates have yet to be established.
Also, we are in the final stages of developing The Crow board game, based on the movie of the same name(I know that the movie itself is based on a graphic novel, but the game is an adaptation of the movie version, not James O'Barr's comic). The Crow is also due out some time this year. Look for it at your nearest Hot Topic store. Don't have a Hot Topic near you? Then ask your friendly neighbourhood game store to carry it.

July 2004:

Big news on the B-movie front! Not only has Cannibal Pygmies in the Jungle of Doom sold out its first printing, but the original B-movie card game, Grave Robbers from Outer Space has sold out its second printing. So if you've recently been unable to find them at your fave game store, not to worry. Both games will have new printings fresh off the press by the end of July, just in time to join the newest member of the B-movie family, Bell-Bottomed Badassses on the Mean Streets of Funk.

New titles! Many people are asking, "What's next for the B-movie card game franchise?". Right now three new games are in development: "Swashbuckling Scoundrels and their Swords of Steel", "Maiden-Munching Monsters from the Mountains of Mist" and "Gunslingin' Gauchos from Sarsparilla Gulch", the last being our loving tribute to the classic Spaghetti western. Of course these are our working titles, but we're interested in hearing from you! Which of these titles would you like to see next? Send us an email and let us know your vote. Think you've got a better title? Then drop us a line telling us your suggestion. Hey, if we use your title, and you're the first one to submit it, you'll get your name in the credits! And now for the legalese: all submissions become sole property of spareChange productions, which means we don't gotta pay ya for it. spareChange productions is under no obligation to use any submitted submissions.

Toronto Trek 2004

We have finally recovered from a madcap weekend at the 18th annual Toronto Trek convention, where spareChange productions debuted its new product line, desperate t-shirts. We were gratified by the positive response to all the new "desperate" merchandise. Many thanks to long-time spareChange friend and freelance artist, Leo Lingas, for his help and support. Also to our number one fan, Paul Salivar, who pitched in and ran demos in the game room (for a very small bribe).

June 2004:

The '70s are back with a vengeance! We are proud to announce that game five in the B-movie card game series, Bell-Bottomed Badassses on the Mean Streets of Funk, is finished and at the printers. It's due to ship to retailers in the next few weeks. Cool new characters, happenin' new locations, and gangs of evil new creatures allow you to kick ass with disco style. Look for it at your local game and hobby store soon.

Convention super special! We will be appearing at Toronto Trek 18 this weekend, July 2-4. Come out and say hello, play a game, get an autograph!
