B1. Two of the above groups got their band names from movies, one from a character in a sci-fi movie, the other the slightly-changed title of a low-budget horror movie. Name both bands and the movies from which they got their names. (2 points)
Ans : Duranduran got their name from a character in the sci-fi movie _Barbarella_ starring Jane Fonda. 10,000 Maniacs took their name from a horror film called _2000 Maniacs_ about a Southern U.S. town that commemorates the U.S. Civil War by killing visiting Yankees. There was actually a third group on this quiz with a movie-based name. Fine Young Cannibals took their name from _All The Fine Young Cannibals_, a drama starring Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood.

B2. Prior to 1989, two of the bands on this quiz had suffered the death of one of their members. Name both bands, the band members they've lost and the cause of death. (3 points)
Ans : In 1978, Chicago lost guitarist Terry Kath to an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. In 1985, the B-52's lost guitarist Ricky Wilson to AIDS.

B3. Of the solo artists and lead singers of the lyrics above, one had appeared on a Hot 100 single before another had even been born. Name both singers and the single the older one sang on before the second one's birth. Note that the older singer wasn't necessarily solo or with the above band at the time. (5 points)
Ans : On March 5, 1966, Steve Winwood, age 17, appeared on his first Hot 100 single, "Keep On Running" by the Spencer Davis Group. Five days later, March 10, 1966, Edie Brickell was born.
