ABOUT THE JUKEBOX HERO |
Welcome to my website. It's been a long time comin, but here it is, FINALLY!!!!! I can't begin to tell you how many times I've attempted to do this. Anyway, the basic theme of this site is my love for my favorite band, Foreigner. There are also sections about my other favorite band, Zebra, as well as some bits of memorabilia, photos, etc, etc. I have been a fan of Foreigner since their beginning in 1977, although I didn't see them live in concert until the Mr. Moonlight tour in 1995. You ask, how did I manage to not see Foreigner for almost 20 years of their existance? It's a long story!! Like I said, the first time I saw Foreigner was in 1995. They blew the roof off the Westbury Music Fair in NY! I couldn't wait to see them again. The next time I saw them was in 1996 at Jones Beach and then later that year at Westbury Music Fair once again. This particular show was VERY special. I tried not to tell my wife Kerri what I had planned for this show. When I found out that Foreigner was going to play Westbury again, I wrote a letter to the manager requesting that the band play our wedding song "Until The End of Time" To make a long story short, 40 minutes into their set, Lou picked up the mic and said "This is for Kerri and Gene", and they sang "Until the End of Time". What a thrill that was! I don't know of any couple who have had their wedding song sung to them by the band that wrote and recorded it. I still get the chills when I tell this story. We didn't see or hear anything about Foreigner for about 2 1/2 years and we couldn't figure out why. I had written to the record company, several fan clubs, and many other places to try and find out any information about the band. Then one day I got a brainstorm. I called my local radio station and asked if they had any news about Foreigner. The DJ told me that he didn't have any current information, and that Mick Jones lived in the area. That's all I needed to hear. When I hung up with the guy, I picked up a telephone book and looked Mick up. Sure enough, there was a listing with the name "Michael Jones" and the town that the DJ had mentioned. I fugured what the heck, so I dialed the number. An answering machine clicked in and guess who's voice was on it? MICK JONES!!!!!! I couldn't believe it, so I left a message, not thinking that he would return my call, as he didn't, but that was ok. The next bit of information may not seem Foreigner related but it all ties in, trust me. While on my way to work on October 25,1998, I was almost killed by a drunk driver. The guy came into my lane and hit me head on. I had lost consciousness and was slipping in and out of it. When I came to, I could hardly breathe as I was pinned between the seat and the steering wheel. The airbag and the seat belt saved me, although they did break a couple of ribs. I tried to get out of the car, but my foot was pinned between the firewall and the floorboard. I turned to my left to see if I could see the other car, and all of a sudden out of nowhere, 2 girls with long blond hair in white jackets and white pants appeared by the door of my car. Here it was, pitch black at 5 AM. They asked if I was ok and they said they would go for help. No sooner did they get there, they were gone and the rescue team arrived to pull me out of the car. Once I got to the hospital, I was taken to x-ray and placed on a heart monitor and given oxygen. I also had a machine that hooked me up intravenously with morphine. I was flyin for 5 days with that stuff.!!! When I finally got to my room, I was told that my heel had been broken, my ankle had been shattered into hundreds of pieces, and 2 ribs were broken. As I was lying on the bed I was looking at the television set that was off which was hanging on the wall in front of me. There was NO ONE in the room but me, so I thought. As I looked at the television set, I saw something very strange. I saw a reflection of someone standing behind my bed, fixing my pillow and stroking my hair! The day before I was discharged, I was lying in bed, again, NO ONE in the room with me, and I felt someone stroking my arm! I dont know about you, but I truly believe these experiences were angelic visitations. OK, now for the good part. After being confined to my house for 4 months after the wreck, I started to climb the walls out of boredom. One day I was looking at the computer ads in the paper and I decided it was time to buy one. Once I got it all set up, hwat do you think was the first place I went to? You guessed it!!! FOREIGNER!!!!!! I found a ton of stuff, websites, chat pages, EBAY (fagettaboutit!!!)) and a whole bunch of Foreigner related stuff. I was in Foreigner heaven!!!! Ive made some wonderful friends as a result of finding Foreigner online and have had the opportunity to meet several of them. Well, that's my story. Thanks alot for stoppin by my website. Just remember one thing: FOREIGNER ROCKS!!!!! Until The End Of Time!!!!!!! The Jukebox Hero |
