Thinking Of You

Part Two

"This should be it. Cute place, definitely a girl's place." Isaac said pulling up in front of the little white house with a white picket fence. He sat there staring at the place trying to get his nerve up to face whatever had happened. "Just get out of here. We don't need your help. You've done enough already." Chele screamed opening the front door, walking down the sidewalk with a ball bat in her hand. His first thought was to start the car and drive away like she asked but somehow, someway he had to make his way inside the picket fence, inside the cute white house. Leaving would not answer all the questions so Isaac took a deep breath and got out of the car and started walking to the gate. "Didn't you hear me, you've done enough already, just get." Chele warned. "You're wrong I haven't done enough. I just heard and I can't believe it. How could he? You'd have to be crazy to lift your hand to a woman, especially one as nice as Alicia. I can't believe he did something so detestable." Isaac said with such disgust is sent Chele for a loop as she let her guard down. "I'm Isaac Hanson. Is there anything I can do?" he offered. "Oh God Isaac. Please help. I think she's dying and she won't let me take her to the hospital. She's really bad." Chele said collapsing to the ground and sobbing. "Sssh she'll be all right. I won't let anything else happen to her. Let me help please?" Isaac asked opening the gate and reaching her, helping her to her feet. "She begged me not to tell anyone but I can't fix this. She needs a doctor. She goes in and out of consciousness on me and I'm terrified. She can't die. She just can't." Chele pleaded for help. "Do you think she'll let me see her? Maybe you ought to prepare me for what I'm going to see, she sure doesn't need me passing out on her or puking my guts out." Isaac asked. "He worked her over good Isaac." Chele said trying hard not to cry, continuing, "Her face is so swollen, I hardly recognized her. Her eyes are swollen shut. Her lip is so swollen it cracked. She hasn't eaten anything and kept it down. Isaac her stomach is so bruised I'm afraid there could be internal damage but she just keeps telling me no outsiders, not to tell anyone."Dear Lord why did you let this happen?" Isaac gasped as she hugged him tightly, sobbing all over again. As the tears ceased, "I'd better get back in there. You sure you're ready for this?" Chele asked. "Were you?" Isaac asked wrapping an arm around her and they headed to the house. "Good she's asleep so get it over, your shock, the horror, the puking. the fainting." Chele suggested as Isaac moved closer to the bed then kneeling beside it, lightly touching her hand as he began to pray. Chele joined him praying for a miracle, "Just let her be okay. Amen." she finished. "Isaac if you'll keep an eye on her for me, man I need groceries, more ice, more salve. God I wish Sis would get here, I can't do this much longer." Chele asked as the tears started. "It's okay, let it out. I'll do anything whatever I can to help. Just let me know. Okay?" Isaac offered. "Here this is some herba remedy I got to help the swelling, it seems to be working." Chele said wringing the rag and placing it on her cheek, explaining how long to leave it, "I think I have it all. Hey why don't you just take my car. I'm not sure if I can park out there." Isaac suggested. "Don't look at me. I got into town, followed the map she'd faxed me to get to the house and found her out cold inside the front door. At first I thought se was dead so I grabbed the phone to dial 911. She came to and grabbed me by the ankle to stop me. I almost died right then." Chele shared hugging him tightly trying to stop the next wave of tears. "Enough of that, I have things to do. I'll hurry Isaac. I'm just so afraid this is more than icepacks and an herbal remedy you know." Chele shared with such desperation. "She has to be okay." Isaac said in a soothing tone. "Yeah you're right, she has to be okay." Chele whispered leaning close to Alicia, "Sis I'm going to go get more medicine. A friend of yours stopped by and he'll take care of you for me. Get better, I need you in my life." With that Chele headed out and Isaac got busy tending to her with the herbal rags. As he neared her lips , he noticed that she appeared to try and sip the liquid so he quickly got a glass of water and a fresh rag and drizzled water onto her lips. He made a quick trip to the kitchen finding a clear chicken broth and drizzled it onto her lips, so pleased when she took it in and kept it down. "That's the first step, you're on your way to getting better. Please Lord help her heal her body and soul. Amen." Isaac whispered starting again with the herbal wraps. He sat by her side praying, reading to her, even singing to her. As he sang 'More Than Anything' he could have sworn she tried to smile before she rolled towards him, moaning in pain as she curled into a ball. As he leaned closer hoping to calm her, she reached out and took his hand in hers before she became comforable again, falling back to sleep. "Dad it's terrible. I can't believe he could do this. It's, it's, unforgiveable Dad." Isaac explained as his father answered. "Should have known you would go to her. What can we do?" Walker asked. "She realy neds to see a doctor but refuses outisde help He really worked her over Dad. There is so much swelling I'm afraid there may be internal damage. How do the tell?" Isaac asked. "I don't know son but your Grandfather would. I wonder if he could help without jeopardizing his responsibilities under the law." Walker wondered. "Dad I'll call him and maybe he'll help us. I forgot about Grampa. That's the answer." Isaac whispered to her. He called his Grandfather and explained everything including her condition which concerned him enough to decide to help. When Chele returned Isaac explained and they waited for him to arrive.
