"Thanks for coming Grampa. She's resting again." Isaac said leading him to Alicia's room. "She needs her rest so her body can heal itself." Grampa replied, adding when he saw her, "You're right Isaac, she does look much better. I think you are good for her boy." Alicia stirred at the sound of voices, "Isaac?" she whispered. "Yeah babe. Sleep good?" he asked as he made his way to her side. "Yeah I did. I feel better. Thanks for the shower." Alicia said raising her fingers to her lips, kissing them as she moaned before she raised her kissed fingers. "Aaaah. Owww. Owww. Owww." Alicia complained as she opened her eyes to find his cheek. She was curled into a ball, rocking in pain, "Babe I'm sorry I shouldn't have turned on the light or opened the curtain." Isaac apologized racing to close the curtains while his grandfather shut off the light. "Better babe? My Grampa came Alicia maybe he'll know why it hurts so." Isaac said sitting down next to her stroking her hair. "Isaac I'm afraid to know. I think something's really wrong and I don't want to know." Alicia whispered. "Alicia we can't help you get better unless you're honest with us." Isaac pleaded. "No I don't want to know." Alicia whispered louder. "But Alicia..." Isaac was saying as she screamed "No. Don't. Stop." as she began to tremble. "Grampa it's happening again." Isaac called out. "Keep calm Isaac for her sake. If not son just leave." Grampa replied sternly. As the convulsion took over, Isaac rose and left the room, collapsing to the floor on the other side of her door. "Why God? Why did this happen?" Isaac screamed as the tears fell. "Alicia can you hear me." Grampa asked. "Uh huh." she whispered. "It's over child. Can I look at your eyes?" he asked. "I can open them now." she whispered then moaned as he checked them out. "Alicia I wish you'd let me check you into the hospital child. I'm afraid that the retina has been damaged but with today's technology it could be repaired." he explained. "Is that why everything is so blurry? I mean it's fuzzy looking now." Alicia asked. "Could be sweetie or it may be the swelling that's causing your vision problem. Please reconsider. Let us help you get better." Grampa Lawyer insisted. "I can't. I just can't." Alicia replied becoming agitated. "Calm down child. Isaac promised you no outsiders and I'll keep that promise even though I'm afraid it's not in your best interest." he said trying to calm her. "Isaac get in here." he called out. "What Grampa?" Isaac asked racing back in. "Hold her and try to comfort her. I'm going to visit a fellow doctor and see what he thinks about your condition. If you won't go to him, maybe I can convince him to come to you." Grampa said. "No. No outsiders you promised me." Alicia cried out, crying herself to sleep. "Ssssh. Please don't ring the bell again." Isaac asked racing to te front door. "She in bed for the night already? Hey Isaac I'm.." Jessy asked. "You're Jessy. I've seen pictures of you and Alicia. Welcome home." Isaac interrrupted. "Thanks Ike. Where's Chels?" she asked. "Last I heard from Tay, she's still sleeping." Isaac answered. "Man she must have been whipped. So what needs doing? You look a little beat too Ike. I say you need a nap too. Why don't you go lay down with her and I'll cean up around here." Jessy suggested. "You sure? You're right I am kind of beat." Isaac replied then head to nap with Alicia at Jessy's insistence. Jessy donned head phones and got busy sweeping, dusting and wiping things down. Out of the corner of her eye she thought she saw someone at one of the windows and turned to see Zac Hanson tapping on the window. "Sorry I had the volume cranked. It's about the only way I can stand to clean. Not my favorite thing. You looking for your brother?" Jessy asked. "You Jessy?" Zac asked. "Yeah Zac. Sorry I didn't think to introduce myself, I knew you." Jessy replied. "That's cool. Umm where is Ike?" Zac asked. "He looked totally spent Zac so I sent him in to take a nap as long as Alicia was napping." Jessy answered. "Well you've done one of the things I was sent to do. Here Mom packed them something to eat." Zac said extending the picnic basket. "Man that's so nice of her. She has so many to feed but she thinks of them. What is it? I actually started something." Jessy replied taking the basket and heading to the kitchen. "Man it sure smells great." Zac said following her in. "You want to stay Zac, there's plenty." Jessy asked. "You sure? Yeah it sure smells good Jessy." Zac answered. "Great Mac and Cheese, that's Alicia's favorite. Zac could you call your Mom and ask her what she thinks about my putting it in the blender? You know would it get soupy enough to sip through a straw." Jessy asked and Zac picked up the phone and dialed. "Hey Tay. Where's Mom?" Zac asked when his brother answered. "Yes Zac, is there something wrong with Alicia?" Diana asked. "No Mom it's just the Macaroni and Cheese you sent is her favorite and Jessy wants to know. Here let me put her on and she can ask you." Zac said handing the phone to Jessy. "Hi Mrs Hanson. I was wondering what would happened if I put a serving in the blender. Do you think it would be soupy enough for her to sip through a straw? Mac and Cheese is her all time favorite. You know a comfort food so I think it would do her a world of good." Jessy explained. "I don't see why not sweetie. I think if you added a little milk you would get a better consistency." Diana answered. "Yeah I think you're right. Thanks Mrs Hanson. This ought to make her feel so much better. Umm if you don't mind I asked Zac to stay for dinner, I hope that's okay with you guys." Jessy asked. "That was nice of you. Of course he can stay. Jessy please remind him to drive carefully when he heads home. I know I shouldn't worry but I do." Diana shared saying her goodbyes. "It's fine with them if you stay Zac." Jessy shared. "Good I was going to anyway. Now I won't get in trouble for it." Zac replied and they set the table and Zac helped her with Alicia's Mac and Cheese. The two were sitting and getting to know each other. "Zac do you know that man coming up the walk?" Jessy asked. "Yeah Jessy that's my Grampa. You know the doctor who's been taking care of Alicia." Zac answered and made his way to the door and then introduced Jessy as they heard a loud crash and glass breaking. They made a mad dash towards Alicia's room, finding Isaac try to calm her down. "Babe please you're going to hurt yourself if you don't let me get you out of here." Isaac pleaded. "Get away from me all of you. Leave me alone." Alicia insisted.as she pushed at him. "Isaac please let me go. Just leave me alone. I can't take this anymore. Please just go." Alicia insisted. "No I won't leave you. You need me. Please baby don't do this." Isaac pleaded, adding, "It's going to be okay I promise." "No it's not, I can't see clearly and what I see is disgusting. Now leave me alone please just go." Alicia screamed. as she began to tremble. "No you don't. I've got you." Isaac said sweeping her into his arms, racing her to the bed and laying her flat as the trembling continued. "You're not going t d tis. Relax. Relax Alicia. It'll be okay I promise you. I love you it has to be okay." Isaac reassured her and the trembling continued but didn't intensify. "Keep talking to her and holding that hand." Grampa ordered. as Jessy and Zac cleaned up the broken mirror. "You okay Jessy?" Zac whispered to break the silence. "No really but I can't let her know that. Zac?" Jessy answered. "What Jessy?" he replied. "Promise not to letme meet Ash right now, I think I'd kill him for what he's done." Jessy whispered shaking her head no as the tear fell. "Yeah I know what you mean Jessy. You won't run into him unless you mean to, he's in some sort of Drug Rehabilitation Clinic Jessy." Zac answered, adding, "Don't cry Jessy. Ike's right it will get better." "Thanks Zac but right now that's hard to believe. She's having a convulsion because he beat her until her brain swelled until now it's short circuiting but it will be okay." Jessy replied trying hard not to sob. "Jessy let it out. You can't hold it in, it's tearing you apart." Zac insisted moving to her and holding her tight as she collapsed against him and cried. "She fought it Grampa. She stopped it from getting worse didn't she." Isaac asked. "It looks that way boy. Like I said you are good for her." Grama answered. Bathroom cleaned and Grampa heading out, te four headed to the kitchen for supper. "There Mom made your meal. Wasn't that nice of her to think of you." Jessy shared. "Mac and chees my favorite. Ummm this is good. Oww. Oww." Alicia said before moaning in pain and racng to the sink, spitting it out and thenrinsing her mouth with water. "What sis? What is it?" Jessy asked racing to her side. "The inside of my mouth must have cuts, the salt hurts." Alicia answered then washed her mouth out more. "Let me see." Jessy said carefully moving her swollen lips. "Yeah you do Sis. Umm there's quite a few. Umm Sis it looks you have a couple of loose teeth too." Jessy said quickly grabbing her as she began to faint from the shock. "No you don't Sis. I know you're stronger than this. You can do this. It would be a lot faster if you'd let us help though. I know you don't want to rat out Taylor Hanson's best friend and I'll help you not do that but it would be so much better if you got help." Jessy suggested. "No I can't." Alicia argued. "Yes you can. You lie and I'll swear to it Sis. Just tell them you didn't really know the guy you met him at a party and when you rejected his advances he came unglued. Tell them you're new in town and have no idea where the party was. Tell them you ran into someone at the grocery store and they invited you to go and you went to the party." Jessy suggested. "You'd let me lie?" Alicia asked. "To get you in the hospital for help, you bet. I'll lie for you. You just mumble and act like you can't talk and I'll do the talking for you. Alicia I'm afraid if you don't get help, Sis I'm afraid you'll end up blind, losing your front teeth and having convulsions the rest of your life everytime you get angry. If that happens Sis you'll be angry the rest of your life. Don't let him do this to you, he's not worth it. Stop worrying about him and how it will look, worry about you." Jessy answered. "Isaac you have to promise me you'll stay away from me if I go to the hospital." Alicia insisted. "No way. I'm not leaving you. What are you asking?" Isaac answered making it to her side. "I'm asking you to stay away while I'm in a public place where the press could catch you at my side. I can see it Hanson Girfriend beaten by? and a picture of you. They'd have a field day with this and I won't go if that's what will happen." Alicia insisted. "Please don't make me. Alicia I want to take care of you." Isaac pleaded hugging her. "Isaac I don't think I'd be alive right now if it wasn't for you. I didn't want to live, I was praying to die. Please don't fight me on this." Alicia asked again. "Please no." Isaac pleaded as he laid his head in her lap and cried. "Yes Isaac. I'll go to the hospital and let them help me get better if you promise to stay away from me while I'm there." Alicia insisted, stroking his hair with one hand and shooing the others out with the other. "Grampa how many days so I can help her pack." Isaac asked a few minutes later. "Two, three days. I'm not sure, they might even do it out patient son but we won't know until she's been evaluated. Soon Alicia, Jessy and Grampa were loaded up and on their way to the nearest hospital. Alicia was held over night for observation. Late the next afternoon when the last of the test result were received and the eye surgery complieted. Alicia was checked out and on her way home as an out patient.
