Losing hope

Where’s the hope in a world that’s lost

To people who just can’t see the cost

Of hate and violence and fear,

Who don’t let anybody near?

Even those that see the light

Can loose it deep into the fight.

Innocence cannot remain

In this world of hate and pain.

Where’s the hope in a world that’s dying

Where no one communicates past lying,

Where people can’t be who they are,

Without getting kicked down to the tar?

How can this be the world for me?

This world of hate and bigotry

There’s little room left here for love or trust

Its hard to find much here past lust

Where’s the hope in this dark land?

Hidden deep beneath the sand?

High up in the sky above,

Or in our hearts, deep down with love?

The hope is everywhere we gaze

It’s not that difficult a maze

Just look into a child’s eyes

It’s there the hope that we’ve lost lies.
