For a band so young (all under the age of 21), silverchair have already enjoyed incredible success. With a strike of luck, they won a radio sponsered battle of the band type contest as youngsters, and got the opportunity to record their first single, the Tommorow EP. From there, they released the hugely popular 'frogstomp', with songs such as tommorow, isreal's son, and pure massacre; 'freakshow' with 'freak', 'cemetry', and 'abuse me', and most recently, this spring, released 'Neon Ballroom', a hauntingly beautiful cd, with highly personal lyrics. Singles so far include "Anthem for the year 2000", "ana's song" and the upcoming "miss you love"

Silverchair are a fairly awesome band to see live. Though i must admit, i liked MGB, and Tom Petty quite a lot more. But they're still worth seeing at least once. Just don't make the mistake i did - seeing them at a festival right before the matthew good band.. they just don't stack up! but i love them anyways..
