49 keys, string and brass synthesizer, made in Italy in the end of 70ths.
This Beast has two fully polyphonic sections: STRINGS and BRASS (with the full polyphony I mean 2 x 49 voices)
The String section produces very nice and mellow analogue string sounds. You can find here two oscillators 16´ and 8´ ( both could play simultaneously), E.Q. control with low, middle and high band sliders. Simple envelope control - Crescendo (Attack), Sustain and volume control. Brass Section has one oscillator ( square ) with simple envelope generator ( attack, decay ), filter ( range, resonance ), ON/OFF switch and volume control. Since the sound of brass is not applicable this section is useful for square basses. Both sections could be modulated by LFO with delay length, rate and depth control. The LFO could be routed either to VCF or pitch. Performer also allow Transposition one octave down. There are 3 outputs on the back: main output, brass output and signal output (for external processing of the sound in another synthesizer e.g. Crumar DS series ). The CV Gate is also mounted.
HELP NEEDED!!!
My Performer has been found in a garage under several tons of trash. There are some parts destroyed inside e.g. transpose switch (there are no wires soiled), entire brass section does not work (the VCF seems to be fully operable - if the level of resonance is adjusted to full range and LFO modultaion is on I can listen some sound (probably self oscilation of the filter) of course with volume pretty high. Could any fan of this Italian synth help me with repair? The schematics would help me. |
