Steven in Pastels
Thank you Pam for the pastels - they're great but I'm not too good with them yet. They are very nice and square and soft but lack definition sometimes, which is why I used a few ink lines. Isn't he beautiful? He's so beautiful it makes me nauseous. I was watching Big Ones You Can Look At today, which put me in a drawing mood. In the one I drew this off, he has a kind of half-hinted smile but I don't think I got it. If you smile at him, he seems to hitch up the corner of his mouth in that little un-smile he does... go on - try it! It'll only work if you believe!
Hang on, it's not working anymore. It did before! Maybe it has to be the moment, or in darkness, or from a distance... keep trying; work the magic!
For some strange reason there IS magic in this one. There's something suggestive or imploring in it - I have him on the wall now and I keep wanting to turn and look at him. What, Steven? Is it the twist in his neck; the hair over his eye; the set of his brow, or his mouth? Whatever it is... AH-AH-I'LL COVER YOU IN KISSES, AND WHEN WE'RE IN A LOVER'S CLINCH/ SHE GETS AWL EXCITED... wow I love this man!
