Above you see a panorama view of the front of the Baltimore and Ohio Building on Charles Street in Baltimore. This is one of the most extraordinary buildings I've ever seen anywhere. I had a Berlitz class there in 1991 while working for the feds. I had a couple of friends in the class and we'd go out and wander around downtown Baltimore during lunch. It's a very interesting city with an amazing variety of architecture. If you like that sort of thing, I recommend that you visit if you get an opportunity. As in other large cities, it doesn't hurt to be on your guard, although it's pretty safe during daylight hours.
On the left is a detail from the B & O Bldg (see front-view panorama just above). On the right are two scenes in New York City. On the bottom we have a view of the Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue to the locals) at 4th Street a block or so from Washington Square Park. On top is, of course, the Empire State Building.
On the left, the Maryland Statehouse in Annapolis. On the right, the house in Ithaca, NY where my parents lived while my father attended graduate school at Cornell.
On the left is an abandoned looking row of townhouses somewhere in Pennsylvania. (probably Harrisburg or York). On the right is a picture of New Mexico that does not belong on this page. Sorry. I'll put up a page on the American West soon. I've got some cool pictures of Joshua trees in the Nevada desert I can add to that.
