About a month before the first date for the concert, the city started to show many posters of the concert. There were two models of them, one with the Babylon Lion and another with the b/w photograph of the Stones that's in the inside sleeve of the album. Short after manny banners have been hanged by the sidelights of the streets, also announcing the show. Some newspapers have started every now and then to comment some aspects of the forthcoming show. That's for sure that as the show will become closer the amount of information by the media will keep increasing. Here's a sample of the ads on the newspapers these days to promote the show.
This can also give you an idea of how are the posters on the streets I've described to you before, for they have the same titles and types of letters and black background. ¡I'm sorry but they're too big to scan them for you!
But lately, with the new date (July the 20th) new posters are hanging on the city walls. A great, huge and red tongue on a black background, and big new letters (not the Babylon ones) to reactivate the excitement for the next visit of the boys.
My ticket (with date 1st of June)
Here's an ad about a radio, "40 Principales", being announced as an official radio for the Stones' tour (sorry, but they published the photo the other way round).
The AGFA promotion
Some days before the theoric 1st of June show, started being shown on the press, a newcoming promotion from the photo film firm AGFA. Now it's out in the shops and consists on a pack with 3 photo films and a promotional official video by Virgin with images from the new tour (St.Louis and some more) and unpublished (at least for my knowledge) footage from the recording sessions of Bridges to Babylon (recording Out of Control with Mick on guitar, etc.) and from the filming of "Saint of me" video. Very nice and interesting. At the end there's a long spoken review of their discography with nice background images. It's about 20 minutes long, and the pack costs about 1000 pts ($6,5). The promotion is complemented with the posibility of wining free tickets to see the Stones in one of the Spanish cities included on the Tour. You can see here pictures of an ad on the press about AGFA promotion, a 360º full view of the slipcase of the video, and cover and back of the postcard made to promote the promotion (help!! I need more English lessons!!).
