13 march 1983, Brighton Top Rank. This show was transferred from tape to CDR.
Sound Quality:
Poor audience, a lot of work went into making it more listenable. Thanks to excessive
copying through the year's this show picked up a lot of weird noises which make a complete
noisereduction impossible.
Comments:
Another good show wasted by bad copying. And such a good show it was. U2 have gotten to
grips with their War material and put up a great show. This is the first complete show I've
heard from the English leg of the War tour. Since almost every War show on FLOM is from the
American leg and onwards I was surprised to find a completely different setlist then from the
American leg. The only previous 'English' show was the incomplete Party at Tiffany's. It now
appear's that a song like Tomorrow was not that rare of a tour oddity as FLOM makes it to be.
In fact, it was played on every show on this leg. And 30 performances are not that rare compared
to only 6 performances of Do you feel loved on the Popmart tour. This show was one rollercoaster
of surprising songs after another. Another interesting performance was Knocking on Heaven's
door, performed here with the aid of some other musicians. A good show, alas, poor sound!
