Comments:
The booklet says that "The 2nd show in Tokyo is much better, with
improved sound quality.....". If this is true, you don't want to hear
the first one, believe me. During the whole show, you can hear people
screaming and singing along with Bono. Since they don't sing very well,
this gets very annoying. The disc is also pretty much ruined by a loud
buzz accompanying the band. As the title indicates, this is the 157th
and very last ZooTV show. This is a great show with a special
atmosphere. You can almost feel that this is the end of something
really big. Mac Phisto tries to call Madonna, who watches the show from
the sound desk, but the connection fails. It's a petty this isn't a
soundboard recording. Even tough it's an exceptional performance, the
poor sound quality makes it impossible to recommend. I would pick up
one of the Sydney bootlegss (which features the exact same set list)
instead. The bonus track version of "One" is very interesting
(soundboard?) recording. I've never heard it anywere else. Is it studio
work?
This is the original pressing on this label.
Personal Comments:
After listening to the first CD I can say that it's not that as bad as listed above.
