SLICK SHOES

  • Dale is home, so that means that Slick Shoes has ended their first leg of the tour...apologies for all the cancelled shows, because their van broke down...but what can you do....its good to have dale back though...their second leg of tour with cooter on the east coast will start soon so he will be gone again...they are about to record with bill stevenson of All and decendents fame in october....yeah..new album already boys...your SLIPPIN' ......look for it in the spring next year or whenever Tooth and Nail decideds to put it out...hopefully soon.....

    HUNTINGTONS

  • Huntingtons are now in Canada for a brief stint of touring....i don't know where though...the lay out for their new ablum "Get Lost" looks amazing...it should be in stores someday soon, or go to a show and purchase it...its great....Tooth and Nail took off one song becuase it was to "controversial" becuase it was about the movie series "Halloween" but don't fret....the Huntingtons will be doing a split with Darlington sometime in the near future...releasing "Let's Go To Haddenfield" and the Christmas song and two other songs that Tooth and Nail took off their upcoming release "Plastic Surgery" so you'll get all the goodies....they are still touring.

    DOGWOOD

  • Dogwood is back home!!! they are taking a break before going to alaska and canada with the undecided in september and then out again the last part of october and the month of november with The Undecided...Their new video is now able to be seen with the release of Tooth and Nail's 5th video comp.

    THE UNDECIDED

  • Their new record comes out this month and you can finally purchase what you have been waiting to here...canadian punk rock....but it's no propaghandi....oh well......they will be on tour with Dogwood this fall so go check them out...make fun of them for being canadian oh yeah...dan had his car stolen, so he is now riding a bicyle around town, looking for his dog....

    Five Iron Frenzy

  • Five Iron Frenzy is coming ou with a new live album on Nov. 2. It was recorder at Creation East on June 25 (I was there). It will have a couple new songs with most of the old favorites. One of the new songs will be a cover ("Its not unusual...") and the other will be about the shooting at Columbine. Inside the booklet there will be 5000 names of backup singers (the people in the crowd). It will be about 45 minutes long.

    The W's

  • The W's are still on the dc talk tour, which will end around may 9. After which The W's will be in the studio, in sunny Concord, Cali for 5 weeks laying down track for the new album. They hope to release the cd in september. Then tour for years promoting the album.

    One Eighty Inc.

  • The Swing-Ska Group One Eighty is changing their name to One Eighty Inc. due to forces beyond their control.

    Not For the Crowd

    The newest members to the BEC line-up are a band called, "Not For the Crowd." Get a preview on the BEC Sampler, "Mom's Like Us Too!"

    Noggintoboggan

  • Noggintoboggan has just recorded their new album. It will out around late march. It has 22 songs and is recorded on Bettie Rocket Records.

    The Deluxtone Rockets

  • The Deluxtone Rockets were signed by Tooth and Nail Records this month and plan to shake things up with their rockabilly, be-bop, jump swing tunes! Razzle dazzle, Daddy-O... If you've never seen a Deluxtone Rockets live show, be prepared for lively crowd interaction and the real look and sound that will get your foot tapping and your mug grinning. You may see Jimmy "Dicey" doing daring acrobatics with the upright bass or Tim "Tahoe" playing a flaming trumpet for Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire." Jason "J.J.", the backbone of the backbeat, beats the skins to keep your fingers snappin'. And finally, up front on the mic, is Johnny "The Ace" Rocketti, the ostentatiously stylish green-eyed crooner, swingin' and singin' in his rockabilly style.
  • Look for their first T&N release Spring of '99.

    Slick Shoes

  • Slick Shoes are recording in january for a new album. They are also working on some covers for a few compilations and a split EP with Joy Electric.
  • Slick Shoes band member Dale Yob is no longer in the band because he moved to O.C., therefore he can no longer practice with the band and is now in the band Fanmail.

    MxPx

  • MxPx looks like they might be changing record companys again. It would be to Interscope Records.
  • Look for a new Studio Album coming out in the fall/winter
  • And a side project titled 'Arthur' is also going to be coming out released on Rock City Records (MxPx's own record company). It is an EP with 6 songs.

    The Supertones

  • The Supertones just got done recording their video for "Chase the Sun." It is thier first video from the album with the same name. The video is being made by Darren Doane and it was filmed at Veluzat Motion Picture Ranch in Valencia, CA. All I can say is that it is a "Spaghetti Western" action video with a Rapper ..... need I say more?
  • "Chase the Sun" is #1 in Christian Market Retail for the 3rd week in a row!
  • The Supertones has extended their contract with BEC Recordings for three additional projects(albums).
  • The Supertones just finished mixing their follow up album to "Supertones Strike Back." It is being produced by GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, L7, Red Hot Chili Peppers) at the Warehouse (Bryan Adams Studio) in Vancouver BC. It was mixed by Jim Rondinelli (Everclear, Matthew Sweet). Their 3rd release is called "Chase the Sun." It is out now!

    Buck

  • Buck hase been touring heavily the past few months from Michigan to Georgia. They finished thier music video for Samaritan two weeks ago. 2 weeks ago they played live/un-plugged on Way FM in Kalamazoo. They played 2 songs, and they also did a live interview with them. Their album was moved back to Jan. 12th. They want to have more time to advertise and stuff. However copies of their new cd will be available at some concerts.

    Ghoti Hook

    Ghoti Hook has been on the CMJ Radio (College Music Journal) charts since the record was released. The peak so far has been #58, their new record has recieved lots of air play thanks to all the fans that have called to request their songs and all the DJ's and Music Directors who have been cool with them.

  • In 3 months they have sold 50% of what we sold with Banana Man in a year.
  • Gordon Gano of the Violent Femmes expressed appreciation for their cover of "Hey Nonny Nonny".
