The CD starts off with a good soundboard recording of a early 1969 Fillmore West show. There's some great dueling "Voice vs. Guitar" as Robert takes on Jimmy's Telecaster during "You Shook Me." Unfortunately "How Many More Times" is cut at the 4:26 mark, but there's a great part near the 1:20 mark where Bonzo sounds like World War 3 as the song takes off! The Kansas City show is listed on the CD as being recorded 11/7/69, but the show was actually 11/5/69. This recording was taken from Nagra reel to reel. It's pretty crappy and sounds like it was recorded with the microphone in a toilet in the building across the street. |
