NCMC Taz: Vivian Campbell out of all the guitarist choices you had to choose from?
DefLPhil: We didn't have many choices (about 3) and we will be returning in December
DefLPhil: but I don't know if Little Rock is on the schedule yet
DefLJoe: We're hoping..the plan is that we are going to come back to the States towards Christmas
DefLJoe: time and then go indoors, and it's very possible that Little Rock will be on that
DefLJoe: particular leg of the venture.
DefLJoe: If the album sustains long enough, we'll possibly get Little Rock in, if not
DefLJoe: it'll be on stage three of the tour, if there is a stage three.
DefLJoe: 1. He's British, specifically from Northern Ireland. 2. He's an excllent
DefLJoe: singer, 3. he could play soccer, 4. he's relatively the same age as
DefLJoe: we are, and consequently grew up on the same humor we did, and it goes without
DefLJoe: saying h's a wonderful guitar player, too. (done)

DefLPhil: Yeah I made them so they look cool and with a couple of

DefLJoe: We just made a video for the song Goodbye. It hasn't gone out to
DefLJoe: the public domain yet, but it will over the next few weeks.
DefLPhil: Yes if there is a demand for it, if a song becomes a single then a video should follow

DefLPhil: Hopefully
DefLJoe: Yeah, we're gonna hopefully back touring starting sometime before Christmas,

DefLJoe: which one it is, because it's involved with the radio station, not
DefLJoe: DL, so we just trust them that it's a good one.
NCMC Taz: LUV SAV1: Just saw you guys last Wednesday night in Columbus Ohio and that was the best
NCMC Taz: concert I have ever been to. I was wondering if more Eurphoria songs will make it onto the setlist??
DefLPhil: Yes, we didn't want to fill the set with a lot of the new songs, so we will be integrating the newer songs
DefLPhil: throughout the tour
DefLJoe: Yes! Is the simple answer, but obviously, we don't want to overdo it in the initial stages of the tour.
DefLJoe: When we come back around Christmas time, we'll change the
DefLJoe: set round again. As it happens, we are actually doing
DefLJoe: four from the new album anyway. (done)
NCMC Taz: Lepluv: What was the inspiration for the song Allnight?
DefLPhil: James Brown/ Prince feel with a rock backbeat, it's all about sex.
DefLJoe: Well, basically, we sat round in a room with Mutt Lange, our
DefLJoe: ex-producer, who co-wrote that song, and it was an all night
DefLJoe: late male bonding session which got a little over
DefLJoe: testosterone. We decided between the five of us that were there, that if James Brown could do a sexy song, so could we.
NCMC Taz: Lep4Life: Tracie here.....What is that trophy sitting on the stage each night?
DefLPhil: That's Doctor Doom fighting the Silver Surfer and they move
DefLPhil: throughout the concert. I'm amazed that someone saw that.

DefLJoe: playing any major cities at all...we're hoping to come back and do that later on.(done)

DefLJoe: A lot of the new material doesn't warrant screaming, it's
DefLJoe: more to be sung...live, when I do the older stuff, off of
DefLJoe: High and Dry and Pyromania, because that's how it goes, and
DefLJoe: we like to stick faithfully to the songs as much as we can. Good point Phil, I'd forgotten about Promises!

DefLJoe: It's one of the most asked questions by European journalists, but we have no plans
DefLJoe: for a live album, if people wanna hear DL live, outside of
DefLJoe: the concert halls, they can always put In the Round, In your
DefLJoe: Face on. That's pretty much a live album. (done)

DefLPhil: dress like a "rock star" you're going to get recognized,

DefLPhil: Yes we did, we conciously made the decision to make it sound
DefLPhil: like Hysteria and Pyromania kind of like a collage.
DefLJoe: We didn't want to copy Hysteria, but we wanted it to be in
DefLJoe: the spirit of. We've learned a lot working with Mutt, and
DefLJoe: to make an album of this quality on our own was a very
DefLJoe: rewarding thing. As long as you add the feel and...it was
DefLJoe: uplifting and positive the way that Hysteria was, we were
DefLJoe: happy with the finished product.
NCMC Taz: Deflepchic: Joe what has turning the age of 40 done to your body and ego? (granted I'm only 3
NCMC Taz: years behind you) Is touring harder? And is it hard to maintain a relationship in the music business?
DefLJoe: I didn't turn 40 over night...literally, get old..it was one
DefLJoe: day after turing 39. It's no more difficult now than it was
DefLJoe: when I was 21, if anything, it's actually easier now, cause
DefLJoe: I'm better at it. Sure I get aches and pains, and
DefLJoe: obviously, occasionally, a bit of a dodgy throat, but I've
DefLJoe: had those since I was 18. A foot note: My body gets more
DefLJoe: damage done to it playing soccer than it ever does on tour!!
DefLPhil: I'm 41 and I'm the fittest that I've ever been!
NCMC Taz: PhilCArch: For Phil: Why don't you use your old guitars for the old songs. Like the Ibanez Destroyer for
NCMC Taz: the Pyro songs, and the Collen Aarchtop for the Hysteria era. Maybe even them Hysteria graphic Jackson :)
