Handsome is an awesome hard core band out of the New York area. Guitarist Peter Mengede(formerly known as the guitarist from Helmet) started the band with bassist Eddie Nappi in 1993. They later picked up drummer Pete Hines out of the band Cro-Mags and guitarist Tom Capone out of Quicksand. But the band lacked vocals, so they held a contest looking for a singer. Out of over 200 participants, they came up with Jeremy Chatelain

who had previously worked with two indy bands. After hard work, in 1997 they released the debut self-entitled album. Then Handsome hit the road opening for Silverchair on the Freak Show Tour. Then another tour with Silverchair and Local H on the North American Freak Tour. The next tour was the Caffeine Nation Tour with Less Than Jake, Mustard Plug, Guttermouth, and headlining the Descendents. Next, Handsome toured Europe with the VooDoo Glow Skulls, Wu Tang Clan, and a wide variety of other bands. But recently things didn't work out with Tom Capone
