i saw the murmurs on august 3 in wichita, kansas. the show was great! it was
really weird seeing leisha and heather playing as a full band with sherri and
sheri. they played almost all of the songs off of pristine smut, and only one
from the last album ("you suck".... of course). i was kind of dissappointed
at that, but they put on a great show. they were really enthusiastic and
happy to be playing. they did a rad cover of "don't go breaking my heart,"
and also played some other hard rock song that i had never heard, with only
leisha playing guitar and heather doing all the singing. the best part was
probably in between songs when heather started dancing (at first i thought
she was going to strip) and yelling "i'll tell you what i want, what i really
fucking want" to the tune of the spice girls. after they played, they all
went to the back of the banquet hall to sell t-shirts and sign autographs...
they signed each and every thing that was handed to them, and were great to
the 7 or so 10 yr old girls that went with their parents to the concert.
leisha and heather were really surprised that so many people (pretty much
just me and 4 friends) had driven 2 hours from oklahoma city just to see
them. from what they said, there are almost no people on this tour that go to
the shows to see them..... it's all about OMC (who, by the way, i think are
pretty stuck on themselves.... before the show, when we were watching sound
check, the lead singer walked by all slyly and said to us "hey ladies," like
we were supposed to be wanting him or something). that's about it..... the
murmurs show was wonderful... and if you get a chance, go talk to them,
they're really nice and interesting people.

Hi peeples! I attended the 7/28 show at the Brick By Brick in San
Diego. There was a pretty small crowd, and as mentioned in the other
review, it seemed like people were there for OMC??! The Murmurs came
onstage around 9:00 (If you want to see them go early, I missed the
Whiskey show because I showed up at 10pm and they were already
finished). They played Toy, Underdog, I'm A Mess, Country Song, Sucker
Upper, Don't Go Breakin' My Heart, and You Suck. Maybe a couple of
others. A highlight was Heather's putting down her guitar and dancing
while she sang. I think it was during Underdog. The show was short but
excellent. The band played well together but it would have been nice to
hear a heavier guitar sound on some of the new songs. The murmers
write great songs. I think they will one day be HUGE!
