As soon as I pressed play on Hydrovibes demo CD, I knew I was onto something special. Winning the 1998 Loudside Underground Band of the Year Award, Hydrovibes trippy-funk-thrash sound is making people take notice. With the addition of DJ1987 (formerly of INCUBUS) early in 1999, Hydrovibe have really come into their own league. The great thing about this CDs fresh and innovative style is that no two songs sound the same. I don't usually dig female singers, but vocalist Heather St. Marie definately adds to Hydrovibes unique sound. My favourite track on this CD is definately 'mind clarity' which showcases the bands talent excellently. Don't be surprised if Hydrovibe get huge any time soon! Hydrovibe's first album HYDROPHONIC is scheduled to be released independently this fall - make sure you pick it up if your into the likes of Incubus..
