hello, all!

this section is going to provide you some information, concerning the person who has constructed and runs this divine/ incredible/ beautiful/ mediocre/ terrible/ utterly crap page - please have your say

my name is Rania Hatzipanayioti. yes, i know it's kinda weird, but in my country lots of people have got long and incomprehensible surnames. oh, i forgot to tell you, I'm from Greece. Just in case you were curious.

I was born in Athens, on August 29, 1976 (star sign: Virgo. for the supersticious.) Same date (not year, of course) as Ingrid Bergman, Liz Fraser (from the Cocteau Twins! cool), Michael Jackson (did it have to be this way?), Richard Attenborough, Charlie Parker, a famous and aging greek singer and an old friend of mine. Well, it could be worse. Or better (October 7, for example).

I (still) live with my parents  in Piraeus. It's a city right next to Athens, and the most important port of the country. Piraeus is a great place to live in, and I love it. It's cool, 'cause the sea is almost all around it - it's placed on a balloon-shaped peninsula. Lovely. The one and only thing that I hate about Piraeus is its main Sports Club, Olympiakos. maybe i just hate them because everyone here loves them, who knows! Oh, and i also hate the fact that it hardly ever snows.

for the time being, I'm studying Architecture in the National Technical University of Athens. It'll take me another year - or more - to graduate. I don't know exactly what I'll do after that, but i love urban design and all sorts of stuff related to that. And design in general. I could go and do something abroad, which would be great...

Other hobbies? I love listening to music. It's extremely important to me, almost vital. I can't live without music. i listen to lots of things, actually. I've got a nice record collection, which i hope will grow, 'cause now it consists of about, um, 150 cds and a few vinyl 45s (e.g. "Do you remember the first time?"). Some of them are presented here. Of course, there are hundreds of CDs that I desperately want but still haven't got - if you're not a radio dj or something, the money's never enough. so, instead of going to the music stores and drooling over all the desired records, i just prefer listening to what i've got.
As you may have noticed, there is a link out there named "radiohead". yes, it's blatant that they are my fave band - i've got 13 cds of theirs, and lots of other things - and i guess this isn't going to change very easily. I don't want to waste your time with useless fandom rants here, it's just that i think that they are the band for the person that I am. I'm very happy that they exist - it makes me feel safe.

I also love comics. Sketching is one of my hobbies. i did it all the time at school while the lesson was going on (most inspiring lesson: ancient greek). I prefer drawing people rather than other things. Mostly faces and bodies in action. There are lots of comic designers that i like, and they're all there, along with a few drawings of mine. be my guest!

Travelling is another obsession of mine, but there's no section about that yet... the most amazing place i've been to so far is New York city, where i spent the best week of my life. other great places? Barcelona, London, Florence, and some parts of Greece. well, there are loads of places i still want to visit. I hope i have the chance to, because it is a blessing to be able to do that.

Reading is yet another way I love to spend my free time. I like science fiction, novels and generally prefer social subjects and stuff. Current fave writers: G. G. Marquez (His way of writing is just amazing. Raw and strong and sarcastic. I love it...), Raymond Carver (I loved his "Shortcuts")

um... i think that was roughly it! :) just get outta here and enjoy yerselves... 1
