The band formed in July of '95, after the breakup of the Lost Pilgrims, Ken and Erik were looking for a bass player to start a new band. Erik's longtime girlfriend, Dinah, suggested her younger brother, Ben.  Ken plays guitar and Erik plays drums, both with experience being in a band, touring and such.  Ben plays bass but had never played in a band.  The first show was July 28 '95 at Mick's lounge, S.F.  A battle of the bands.  The Keeners came in third of three.  Oh well. After about six months of practice, recording a demo and writing new songs, we began playing out at small clubs in S.F. Since then we have recorded several more demos, played some larger venues, like the Transmission Theater, Slims, and Cubberly Community Center.  We have been through one van-smashing (parked, empty), and then got a better van, went to Portland and Seattle a couple of times.  No long tours yet, but a long tour is much anticipated.  Right now we're working on some more new songs, and doing some 4-track recording . Blah blah blah.
