Is it his lanky, "I've-been-kicked-once-too-many" puppy-dog good looks, or his uniquely sexy deep voice that draws fans to Tony Hughes? Perhaps it's those interesting dance moves of his, or the mysterious air that surrounds him like those black clothes he wears. Whatever it is, Tony continues to be the favorite STREETNiX member of fans everywhere. Fans scream his name louder than everyone. Maybe it's the promise of the first ever 'sensitive male' that gets the girls hearts pounding. (Though, in my opinion, the other guys do not lack here, either!)
I have had the good fortune to meet this handsome guy on more than one occasion, so perhaps I can shed some light on this mystery.
Tony is the Ultrasweet. He's the one who'll smile and hug a fan willingly, or grin widely and pocket a mysterious note that's been thrown on stage, much to the enjoyment of the audience. Even when crowds are at their most annoying, he manages to keep a sence of humor. "I don't think I can do that," he politely refuses to a young elemenary school girl that tilts her face impatiantly at him. "Maybe on your arm,". He signs the little girl's arm, and turns to me, laughing, "I don't think her parents would appreciate it if she went around with my signature imprinted in her forehead for the rest of her life," and I smile back. You can't help it with this guy. He's that nice. Then I ask him to sign my CD and picture. "Please, write something nice," I ask, and he looks at me, a smile spreading over his face. "I could write something really nice, but you'd probably hit me,". Knowing I could never hit him, I tell him to write what's on his mind, and he hands back the picture, with, "something really nice" written above his signature. Yes, he's got a sence of humor. A bad one. But when he returns my CD, I get a pleasant surprise. He's written, "Mmmm, Brown Eyes" on it, and I can't help but chuckle at that. There he goes, being nice again, even if he's not being 100% honest.
