Almost meeting 'N Sync and going to the 'N Sync, Blaque and Tatyana Ali concert on May 6, 1999

After days of convincing, my mom finally agreed to let me skip school to meet 'N Sync. They were going to be at the mall of america and I was dying to go. I got up early on May 6th and turned the radio. Someone had called the station saying there were about 150 people inline already to meet the guys. Now that might not seem like a lot, but it was only 7am and they guys weren't going to be there until 1:30. I still wanted to go so I got ready, and we went and picked up Becky. We got to the mall at about 10:30 and the line was already going half way around the mall (if you have been there you know how long that is) so we decided to just go shopping because even if we did get inline we knew we wouldn't get to meet them. At about 1 we got in a group of about 200 girls waiting by the door that the guys were supposedly gonna come in and the "N SYNC! N SYNC!" chanting started and this dude behind me he was with his girlfriend or sumthing yelled "BACKSTREET BOYS!!" it was funny, anyways. The guys came in somewhere else and all the girls took off in the direction of the stage they were on. They guys said hi to the thousands of fans crowded in the rotunda and the people hanging over the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors to get a glimps of the the guys. We adventually made it to the escilators and went up to the 4th floor taking pictures on the way up. Here is one of them:

Sorry, the pics get kinda blurry when I save my page, I don't know why, but sorry if you can't see it very good. We sat outside for a little while, after being pushed inbetween tons of people for 1/2 an hour, you would be too. We decided to try and get up a little closer and take some better pictures so we went back to the rotunda to find everyone gone and people cleaning up the mess. We had no clue what happened cause there was still 45 min left of the signing. It turns out a water balloon fell on the stage from the 4th floor, it hit some fans and they had to leave because they didn't want anyone to get hurt.

The story made the front page of the paper the next day, here are the 2 pics they had of the guys at the mall of america (there is one more at the bottom of the page from the concert and all the rest were of girls pretending to cry)

The concert It was awesome, we had pretty crappy seats, but it was still great! The first act was Blaque. They were really cool. The one girl had realy cool hair and they had some hot dancers. Their songs have a lot of bass in them though so it was hard to hear them over the bass and the screaming girls but they performed 808 and I Do and some other songs and they threw Chris and JC's wife beaters and Justin's boxers into the audience that was pretty cool. I was hooked on them after seeing them they were really awesome. Here is a really bad but my only pic of Blaque.

Tatyana Ali was 2nd, she was cool too. She performed Day Dreamin, the Men In Black song and some other stuff. She was really cool too. She took a pic of the audience for her scrapbook or sumthing, it was col. Here are 2 pics of her: (I know they are bad, don't rub it in)

And of Course 'N Sync was last. They of course were awesome! They performed every song off the regular album but Giddy up which kinda made me mad cause thats my favorite, but thats ok. They did this really cool decade thing where they would play a video while they went backstage and changed and then they came out and performed a song from that decade it was cool. The Jackson 5 song was the best they had afros and everything. And durring sailing, they flew! It was really cool here are some of the pics I took durring the concert.
