ALBUM REVIEWS - WESTLIFE

TOP OF THE POPS - NOVEMBER 1999
*****
ALBUM OF THE MONTH 2! (Along with 5ive's Invincible)
- Makes you smile
- Good for a snog
- Good for karaoke
Style of music: Slip on the guys' debut album, sit back and let the cosiest heart-warming, lip-quivering movie play out in your mind as Westlife switch from dreamy ballads and sweet piano-led melodies to mid-tempo grooves and mellow beats. Each track is a testament to their harmonising talents.
Which singles are on it? Swear It Again, If I Let You Go and Flying Without Wings.
Anything else to watch out for? The most tear-jerking song ever. It's called Moments, it's Kian's favourite and it's complete with dramatic chord shifts and breath-taking build-ups. The two cover versions - Extreme's More Than Words and the '70s track Seasons In The Sun are also spot on. This album is an essential buy for anyone with a romantic bone, no, make that at DNA stand, in their body. Yep, Westlife is 100 per cent lip-smackin', finger-clickin' good!
