TOP OF THE POPS ISSUE 69/NOVEMBER 2000
The love life, the rumours, the truth - it's the life of Bryan!
What's your greatest fear in life?
Losing the person you're closest to in the world - like a member of my family or my girlfriend - and not being able to do anything about it. It's the fear at the back of my mind.
What else scares you?
I hate rats. They're the one thing I detest. I just hate them with a vengeance. The last time I saw one was when I was playing golf - yuck, it was horrible. Do you know what? I'd rather be attacked by a vicious dog than have a rat run up my leg. That's the honest truth.
What do you daydream about?
Loads of things. Going home to bed because I'm knackered - I didn't have any sleep last night. I went to Manchester for a friend's birthday and I flew down to London this morning. It was a laugh, though. I had about ten minutes sleep on the plane. That was it.
What makes you happy in life?
Kerry, definitely. Out of everything I have in my life she makes me happiest. We've been together for a year now but we've totally played it down. We wanted to keep it private, but we got photographed. I was seeing someone else when we first met and she was single. Then we started seeing loads of each other and I had to finish with the other girl. I just said to her, 'Look, I'm in love with Kerry.'
So what's the most romantic thing you've done?
To be honest, I do romantic things for Kerry all the time. I love surprising her. Like for her birthday - she had to go Amsterdam to do Top Of The Pops and I was supposed to go too, but it was really late by the time I got there and they wouldn't let me on the plane. She was devastated, crying and everything and it was the last flight. Luckily there was a flight ten minutes later to Rotterdam. So I took that and then a taxi to Amsterdam. I knocked on her door at 1 o'clock in the morning and I'll never forget the look of surprise on her face.
