Abbey Road II

This is an alterante version of Abbey Road, with different mixes and alterante takes. It's certainly much better than Abbey Roadcompanion CD. A friend got this tape for me, and I'm not exactely sure about where he got it from, but it seems to be one of those old classic vinyl bootlegs.

CONTENTS:
Come together - Something - Something break in - Maxwell Silver Hammer 1 & 2 - Oh! Darling - Octupos's garden - I want you - Here comes the sun
Becasue - You never give me your money - Sun king - Mean Mr. Mustard (1 &2) - Polythene Pam - She came in through the bathroom window - Golden slumbers - Carry that weight - The end - Her majesty (1 & 2)

The Abbey Road Companion
Invasion unlimited

Not one of my favourites, this one brings mainly not very alternate mixes of the released takes. What it had of really interesting was officially released on Anthology 3: the solo demo of Something and Come and get it. there's na unreleased Lennon number called I need you which is obviously not legitime.

CONTENTS:
Becasue (vocals only) - Come and get it - I want you (Paul on vocal -?) - I need you - Something (demo) - Something (rough mix) - Maxwell's silver hammer - oh! Darling - Octopus's garden - You never give me your money - Sun king - Mean mr. Mustard - Her majesty - Plythene pam - She came in through the bathroom window - Golden slumbers - Carry that weight - The end - her majesty (full ending) - You never give me your money (alternate mix) - Golden slumbers - Carry that weight - Becasue

Beatle versions of solo songs and more...

Many material in this tape comes from Get Back sessions bootlegs. It's not so hard to find many of them on bootlegs, but it's still rare to get The inner light with John singing lead or Beatles. I'm not suere if this tape was taken from a bootleg CD or if it's a compilation from various sources. Anyway, it'z great!

Stereo A hard day's night UK/ US
No label

As everybody knows, the first four Beatles LP's were only released in CD in their original mono versions. Despite studio documentation, George Martin claims he didn't mix these albuns in stereo. This CD brings the stereo mix of A hard day's night, in both UK and US soundtrack version. The master was taken from the original vynil releases, hence the not excellent sound quality. But it's still na interesting item, for several of the stero mixes bring nice details, and the US soundtrack LP is not easily found, at least in Brazil.

It's not too bad
Peg Boy
59:51

Fisrt of all, there's the usual Peg Boy deluxe box with a nice booklet. Then, the fantastic CD which document the entire process of composition of Strawberry Fields Forever, from the earlier known John demos to the final version.

As we all know, John originally composed some demos titled It's not too bad. Then he recorded several different version. In the end he liked part of a light version and part of a heavy, orchestrated version. So Geroge Martin, by varying the speed of each tape, managed to create the final song as we know it today.

This CD leaves no doubt about why Strawberry fields is many people's favourite Beatles track.

Off white 2, 3
No label

The problem with thse CD's is not the material they contains, acoustic demos from the White album era, recorded in George's house in Esher. This album seems to not having being made by serious people. All songs can be found in much better sound quality on bootlegs like Unsurpassed demos and Unplugged. But they still contain some interesting things, like a lovely eletric version of John's Oh my love, but not legitime.
