Released in 1963. This album gathers the Beatles' first two singles and ten new songs, several of them writtem by the team Lennon-McCartney. It was rare at early sixties that artists should record their own songs. There would usually exist people specialized in that. The album was almost entirely recorded in one day, finishing with a remarkable one take performance of "Twist and shout".

With the Beatles |
Released in 1963. The concept of this is album represents one of the most important changes the Beatles produced in music industry: the very format of music media was transformed. Until then, the standard was the single, because one could buy only one or two good songs. The Beatles changed this forever, because EVERY song was a potential single, so all you needed was an entire session "with the Beatles".

A hard day's night |
Released in 1964. One of the most beloved Beatles' albuns, and the only one to be entirelly dedicated to Lennon-McCartney compositions. Legend is that half of the tracks were written in a singel night at a hotel room! Half of the songs came from the soundtrack of their first album, but all of the songs became classics of popular music. This was the first album in which George used his brand new 12-string Rickenbacker, changing the 60's sound forever.

Beatles for sale |
Released in 1964. This was an album made at the top of beatlemania. In its very famous cover, many people see tired faces. But what the music shows us is a very strong group doing rock'n'roll. In the liner notes, great Derek Taylor predicted:

Released in 1965. The soundtrack for their second movie, "Help!" produced as many classics as "Yesterday", "Ticket to ride", "The night before" and "You're gonna lose that girl", just to name a few. George Martin states that the use of string in "Yesterday" was possible one of the experiments which would open musical possibilities for the Beatles from the next album on.

Rubber soul |
Released in 1965. This is where a new revolution starts. Rejecting all previously successfull formulas, the Beatles are bound enough to try a music totally different to what they had already done. New instruments, complex arrengements, meaningful lyrics. Music would never be the same.

Revolver |
Released in 1966. Many years later, the world is still discovering new things about this album. To many, this is the most fantastic Beatles album. A totally different musical approach is tried, going still further than on "Rubber soul". Rumours on drug use begin appearing, and the very limited possibilities of live concerts seem no longer pleasant. George writes many news songs, Ringo sings one of the all time greatest beatles classic. Changes were on the way!

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band |
Released in 1967. Perhaps the most important album in music history. "Sgt. Pepper's" was a masterpiece by four genius. It is possible that never again an algum will have such a stron impact not only in music, but in arts and culture in general. After they stoped touring, the Beatles devoted their time to creating the most advanced music they could do in the sixties. New technologies had often to be created only to answer the Beatles' demands.

Released in 1967. The sound track for their TV film became another great classic, thanks to songs like "The fool on the hill", "I am the walrus" and, on the American version which became world's standard, "All you need is love", "Penny Lane" and the one which is considered by many as the best Beatles' song: "Strawberry fields forever". George Martin tells that one day John was trying to explain the difference between him and Paul. He said: "Let's face it, George. I don't expect to enter some bar in Spain and hear somebody wistling I am the walrus". Well, it did become one of the Beatles best know tracks, didn't it?

Released in 1968. Many of the songs on this album were written while the Beatles were in India studying meditation. It's a really amazing output! Some people say that they should have done a single album, only with the best songs. Luckilly they didn't!!

Released in 1968. The soundtrack for their famous animated film brings four new songs, two re-editions and an entire side dedicated to George Martin's instrumental tracks. "Hey Bulldog" has one of the best guitars riffs ever created.

Abbey Road |
Released in 1969. Although released before "Let it be", this was the last album the Beatles recorded. They knew it was the last album, so it's possible that everyone decided to make the best. Would it make a difference? They had always done the best anyway :o). Legend is that the albumw as originally going to be called "Everest", but there was a problem in going to Everest to take the picture for the album's cover. So someone suggested: "Why don't you simply go outside, call the album Abbey Road and end of history?". Accepting the suggestion gave the world a new touristic place and one of the nicest cover in music history!

Let it be |
Released in 1970. Reocrded mostly during '69 as part of the famous "Get Back sessions", these songs belong to a very interesting, however problematic, period in Beatles career. They want to produce an album called "Get Back", but for many reasons the project didn't go on. So Phil Spector was brought in to produce this album. Though criticized by many people, he did make a nice seletion, where we find some of the best Beatles classic, as "Get back", "Let it be", "The long and widing road" and many more. A favourite!

Released in 1972. The famous compilation, gathering some of the best output from the early years. If you have this in vinyl, you shoul notice some interesting details. Some songs has appeared in stereo, while the CD's versions are in mono. Notice, for example, th intro of "From me to you".

Released in 1994. These recordings were made in the 60's for the BBC radio and since them have appeared on a number of bootlegs, most noticebly the fantastic 10 CD set "The complete BBC sessions". These sessions are interesting because the Beatles performed alternate versions of their hits and talked about different subjects. Most of all, they have performed for the BBC many songs they didn't offically release. So this is your chance to know lots of new Beatles material!

Released in 1995. The inclusion of "Free is a baird", the first new Beatles recording in 25 years, would be reason enough for anyone to have this CD. But "Anthology"went furhter and brought rehearsals, live concerts, early recordings, studio outtakes, everything wit the best possible sound quality. A remarkable project!

Released in 1996. "Anthology 2" is a collector's drem!! It documents the moment when the Beatles toped touring and decided to devote their time to studio research. This is when music was changed forever.

Released in 1996. Closing the sequence, "Anthology 3" brought some really rare stuff that hadn't been avaiable even on bootlegs. Demos, studio rehearsals and a fantastic series of demos for the "White album" left everybody in expectation for more. Shoul we get "Anthology Serie PArt II"? :o)
