| This is the "guaranteed not to split" guitar. Around 1955, Aunt Mimi bought John's first guitar for 17 pounds from a mail order catalogue. John used it until the late fifties; in fact, he was playing it the very day he met Paul. Nobody never hearb about it until the eighties, when Mimi supposedly donated it to a Liverpool charity instituition. The restored guitar was sold on a Sotheby's auction in 1999, and today it's possibly in the hands of the lucky wealth collector who bought it. |
