• HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR JOHN!

  Today's John's 60's birthday! Let's just give ourselves sometime today to light a candle, think about him, think about the world. What are we doing to our world and how are we dealing with it?

  John has a message of peace and love, ok. But he also has a call for COHERENCE: "You say you want a revolution" and, on the other han"d: "I wanna ask you comrades and brothers: HOW DO YOU TREAT YOUR OWN WOMAN BACK HOME?".

  To defend peace and love is very easy, but our real challange is to have a real commited attitude. Talking about Middle East or poverty is easy and beautiful. We all want to change the world, but meanwhile being a decent member in our community something we all can do now. "Do it do it do it do it do it do it do it now!".

  So let's take today to think about the need of being coherent. Let's not pretend we care about people only by thinking on world's big issues: let's also think about how we treat people near us.

  A small word in portuguese. Aqui, no Brasil, agimos feito doentes sociais. Se você quer gostar de John e de sua mensagem, não seja um moterista estúpido. Não dirija enquanto usao telefone celular, não pare em fila dupla, não deixe de usar a seta. Não minta! Seja coerente com suas boas intenções!

  John, I hope that you're rockandrolling where you are! Thank you for everything you done, for everything that has happend in my life because of you, for everything you represent. I love you so much!

• Oh God! How hard it is to keep the site updated! Hope next year, after I complete my post grad, I can finally bring all new stuff I've got and finally organize the audio list. Until then...

  Anyway, I've added a few new CD's to the Alphabetical list of bootlegs. Also, I've done a few updates on Links section.

April 21st, 2000

• IT WAS 10 YEARS AGO TODAY!

  On April 21st, 1989 I had the pleasure to attend Paul's concert at the Maracanã Stadium, in Rio de Janeiro. As everyone knows, this historic concert set the new worldwide record of attendance for a single artist show: 184.000 happy fellows made the choir for "Hey Jude"! There was very hard rain in Rio those days. Authorities were worried, and the 19 April show had to be postponed to April 20 (hence the date for "The long and winding road" on the "Tripping the live fantastic" CD is WRONG!). But just hours before the show, as miracle, the rain stopped and Paul could enchat the world in all his glory!

  I had this test on monday, April 23rd. I needed to succeed in thsi test so much, so my dad told me: "Well, I think you're old enough for a decision. You can either go to the show or dail in the test, and that can spoil your year. It's up to you!". Needles to say, I chose going to the show. So there we went: my father, mybrother, my books and I. We all had a lovely saturday in Rio and we arrived at the Maracanã with the night.

  I remember seeing Paul as a very very distant figure on the other side of the stadium, but who cares? I WAS THERE, right? From that show I brought me a t-shirt and a tender memory of everything. Gladly I did, because in 1993 I felt in bed with hepatyte just two days before the show in São Paulo. A few days ago I finally got a CD with the complete April 21st show, which I'll always keep in a very special place inmy collection.

  So that's it! That was a very important day in my life, and I thank God that my father accepted to take me, that Paul came in Brazil, that the rain stopped, that I lived in this time of history, that Paul was put in my way!

  And, before I forget, I did suceed in that test!! Almost maximum grade!

• A historical aquisition to my collection!
  Added Paul in Rio - April 21st, 1990. This is not the same concert that was bootlegged on "Live on tv in rio". The new double CD is the historical record breaker concert of April 21st, the magic show that almost didn't happend because hte very hard rain in Rio. In the last minute, however, the storm stopped as miracled and the sky opened. Beautiful audience recording, very moving show, totally cool!

• Also, I shoud mention that "Gimme some truth" was finally broadcast last night in Brazil. What can I say? That's marvelous! I felt in the studio with John and again I was possessed by that feeling that I love him so much it makes me wanna cry.

  Sometimes it's so hard to face that fact...

You can't access them by the beatle's individual bootleg pages. That's because I'm planning a larger update on the site structure in such a way that will be easier to update it.

April 10th, 2000

• I should mention - as if no one knew about it... - that it was thirty years ago that the Beatles publicly disbanded. While sad, the separation of the Beatles gave each one of them conditions to develop their own magic work. All of them together in one band was just TOO MUCH! To me an extra point in the Beatles gift is that they're always brave to try new ways, when they could be already comfortably sitting in their success. That's one of the reasons we still love them and each one of them after thirty years, while many many others have passed and left no memory. Long live to the four brave knights from Liverpool!

• I've doing my best to keep the alphabetical list of bootlegs as updated as possible. Sadly my current professional rhythm doesn't allow me to add details for every new CD. At least you my friends will know what new material is coming. Today I have added a bunch of new CD's I have recently traded or bought. Enjoy!

• Hello,, my friends!
  I haven't given up my site! Please don't feel afraid to write to say hello or purpose a trade. I've been just working too much, and there's no time left for updates.

  I've got tons of stuff I goota add to the site, but God know when I'll be able to do that. Besides two new jobs, I'm working on my post grad thesis on John Lennon. Good reasons, right?

  Anyway, I made minor updates on my Alphabetical list page today, so that my trading partners will know at least in part what's going on. There's pleny of new videos and official rare records too, and I'll add it as Imanage.
