Guilherme Lentz' Beatles Website

Beatles' Guitars:

This guitar was used by George in 1966 and can be seen on some of the videos from that period. It had a tremolo bridge, which we don't see often on SGs these days. History is that George later gave it to Pete Ham of Badfinger. That would be a nice end, but as we all know Pete traagically died too young. Legend is that his wife, nnot having a clue of what was in her hans, sold the SG on a garage sale. This story sounds too absurd to be true, but that's what I've read from reliable sources. Anyway, the sad thing would be that this is another beautiful beatle guitar that's lost somewhere, possibly in the hands of someone who doesn't have a clue of what's that old charming piece of wood.

This was until 2005, when it was kindly brought to my attention by a friend name Stephen the existence of this site. It simply shows that George's SG has been rediscovered and acutioned for over $500.000. According to it, it has been kept by Badfinger's Pete Ham's brother, John Ham. The site offer no info on who's the buyer. However, it does show a more recent picture of the SG. Chek it out:

On this very beautiful picture, George very unusually uses his SG on a live concert. According to the book this pic was taken from, this is the very last Beatles concert in England.
