Released in 2001. Wingspan is not exactly a Wings compilation; it's more accurate to say it's a Paul compilation of his favourite songs during the Wings period, hece the inclusion of solo numbers such as "Pipes of peace" and "No more lonely nights". Making compliments is unnecessary, right? With a collection of Paul McCartney songs it would be redundant to say it's a really really undescribily beautiful listening. So I should note that this CD looks very like an attempt to present these songs to a new and younger audience and also to bring old fan's attentio to some lesser known tracks, such as the outstanding "Daytime night suffering", unexplicably put on a mere B-side backin the 70s. Despite the "conquer new audience" feel, there's some attractions to the die hard fan too: the remastered sound, a few rare single edits and a new acoustic medley of "Bip bop/Hey diddle". So, beatlefriend, what are you wating for? Go get your copy!
