What is a PIN?
PINs are not pager phone numbers. If you do not know the PIN number associated with your text pager, call our customer service department. If you are trying to page a subscriber and you do not know the recipient's PIN, you must contact that individual to gain access to their PIN. Our company does not give out subscribers' PINs. An entry in the PIN field overrides any selection in the directory. Subscribers with only numeric paging service are not reachable through the Internet.
Message Delivery Confirmation
After selecting the button, please wait for confirmation that the message has been queued for transmission at the paging terminal. This may take several seconds.
Message Delivery Method
Paging Address Book uses Simple Network Paging Protocol (SNPP) to deliver the message directly to the paging terminal and confirm it enters the terminal's queue for transmission. SNPP is totally different from Email in that the message goes directly to our terminal. Email is routed through the internet and can sometimes take hours.
Maximum Message Length
The maximum length of a message is dependent on the subscription held by the subscriber. If you enter more than is allowed to be sent to the pager, you will get an error message giving you the number of excess characters. Use the BACK button in the browser to return to the Send a Message page, reduce the message, and re-submit. Hint: A long message can be broken up into two shorter consecutive messages and then sent.
