OK, these youths from Northern Ireland know how to rock, and rock hard they do! Combining the styles of post-punk with glam-rock, they are one of the most immediately liking bands in modern rock. Their first album, TRAILER, isn't as good as its follower, 1977. TRAILER never develops a solid groove. It's pop on some songs, punk on other, guitar-driven on others, and it just never develops into anything great. 1977 is another story! It's a fabulous rock album, dark, seductively catchy, and stylistically remarkable. The singles were "Goldfinger," "Girl from Mars," and "Oh Yeah," but many of the band's best songs remained as album tracks on 1977, making the album enjoyable past its singles. Their new album NU-CLEAR SOUNDS comes out 10/20. Look for it, it's supposed to be great!
RECOMMENDED: 1977
