Nic Endo White
Heat EP now out.
23.Sept.98 - Nic Endo's White Heat EP has surfaced and is now available. The catalogue number is DHR 12 (which also happens to be taken already... it might be DHR 13), and there are 5 tracks.
Interestingly enough, there are apparently no vocals and no
beats? Oh well... more info on this as it comes in.. Plus, a track listing is available..
Cobra Killers form,
release 7".
23.Sept.98 - The latest new band on DHR is Cobra Killers,
comprised of Gina D'Orio of EC8OR and Annika Trost of Shizuo.
They scrounged up a Yamaha SU-10 Sampler and a 60's Korg Organ and started throwing the tracks together. They recently released a 7" entitled Cobra Killers,
and have a full length called either Right Into A Kick For More or will be self-titled - either way it's
due out in October, or possibly later. A track listing is available for the full-length.
Live Subjunkies EP
out now.
23.Sept.98 - The Sonic Subjunkies have released a live EP
entitled "Live at the Suicide Club 8.7.95." The release
is on DHR Limited (DHR LTD 007), is 7 tracks recorded on a Sony Discman Pro, and will be on MCD and 12".
As a bonus, the CD version contains the deleted Subjunkies EPs, for a total of 14 tracks.
A track listing is available.
Alec Empire/Techno
Animal release out now.
23.Sept.98 - The Alec Empire/Techno Animal collaboration,
previously known as Animal Empire, has been retitled The Curse of
the Golden Vampire. The full length self-titled release is out
now as DHR CD/LP 15. No tracklisting yet.
New DHR signings
include Fever, Nitro.
23.Sept.98 - DHR has signed two bands recently. The first is
Fever, which is a project of DinST aka Din. The second is Nitro,
who clocks in at a mere 15 years old (can we say Less Than Twenty
sublabel?). Although he's still in school, Alec has heard his six
track album and calls it, quote "The sickest record I've
heard." No info on release dates for either artist, although
more will be posted as it comes in. Thanks to 'news from the
digital world' for the Fever info.
New releases in the
works from ATR, Shizuo, 16-17.
23.Sept.98 - It has been revealed that DHR
mainstays ATR and Shizuo are both working on new material, due to
hit by the end of the year. Also, newcomer 16-17, who released an
EP titled Human Distortion earlier this year, is
preparing a full-length release. As stated in 'news from the
digital world' (see the links page for a link - killer
newsletter/page): "It's in the moment in the hands of the
16-17 member Alex Buess and their executive producer K Mart
(Techno Animal). Alex Buess may starts also a 16-17 Soundsystem
sometime soon which should be fun for sure. Damien Bennett, 16-17
bassist and producer of the ambience related project Carthage,
will in the meantime (probably) hook up with Mich Wertmueller,
16-17 drummer, in his band Alboth! to play shows later this year
around Europe, from mid September to mid October." Endquote.
More on this as it becomes available. Thanks to 'news from the
digital world' for the info.
Patric C. begins
work on full-length solo effort.
23.Sept.98 - Patric C. (of EC8OR fame) has begun
work on a full-length solo album. No word on a release date, but
for a sampling of his solo work check out his Snuff Out E.P.
and The Horrible Plans of Flex Busterman, which both
show his diversity. More on this as it comes in.
Hanin nearly finished with solo album.
23.Sept.98 - Although tour conflicts have prevented any releases past the Show E.P., Hanin Elias, of ATR fame, is nearly finished with her full-length album. According to the DHR web page, a 1998 release is a possibility.
Bomb20, DJ Scud,
and Something J on new Irritant comp.
23.Sept.98 - The lineup for the new audio
Irritant has been announced, and included DHR acts Bomb20, DJ
Scud (who contributes to Shizuo), and Something J (a member of
Killout Trash). The tape is packaged, as usual, with a magazine -
it retails for about 4 pounds (approx $7.00 US). For ordering
info, see the Irritant link in the links page.
DHR featured in
NME.
23.Sept.98 - NME (New Music Express) has recently
done a series of articles on Digital Hardcore. The first is a
"Guide to Alec's Empire" from the 12.Sept.98 issue, and
is availble here. The second is
titled "This is Really Hardcore!" and is from the same
issue - read it here. Thanks to
whoever typed these in and posted them (I don;t have their email
or name right now - sorry...)
Curse of the Golden Vampire to be released in the US
15.Oct.98 - Curse of the Golden Vampire, the Alec Empire/Techno Animal project, is due out on CD and 2xLP on November 17. More as it comes in.
New ATR featured on Orgazmo OST
08.Oct.98 - ATR will release a new track on the Orgazmo Original Sountrack. The song is apparently very different from past ATR and the title is something to the effect of "Love Sex... (something)" and, of course, is not yet confirmed. No street date so far on the OST. As a side note, the movie is by the South Park creators.
If You're Into It, I'm Out of It date changed
30.Sept.98 - Apparently DHR US has changed the date of the US release of Christoph de Babalon's 1997 album If You're Into It, I'm Out of It album - CDNow is listing it as available Nov 3 (instead of Oct 20). No word on any changes yet, but expect it to still be available on CD and 2xLP. More as it comes in.
You've Got the
Fucking Power compilation released
23.Sept.98 - To kick off the U.S. branch's operations, DHR has
released a compilation entitled "You've Got the Fucking
Power." It has 8 tracks by 8 artists: ATR, Christoph de
Babalon, Shizuo, EC8OR, Patric C., Curse of the Golden Vampire,
Bomb20, and Alec Empire. Retail price for this puppy is a mere
$1.98. Catalogue number is DHR CD/LP 17, and a track listing is available.
Alec Empire's The
Destroyer released.
23.Sept.98 - As well as the You've Got the Fucking Power
sampler (see above), Alec Empire's classic album The
Destroyer is now available as DHR 16 on CD & 2xLP (I think - can anyone verify this?). The album has been
updated for the US release with a new cover and three additional
songs - Hard Like It's A Pose and Down With the Shit from DHR LTD
001 and What Are You Talking About from DHR LTD 002. Of course that means that three or four tracks have also been removed... oh well... The finalised track listing is available, as well as the new cover art. Also, Sonicnet's albumreview.com has posted a review, albeit a very non-flattering one - it's definately an album to check out if you don't have the import.
DHR US release
dates.
23.Sept.98 - With the release of the DHR sampler, many release
dates came also. Here's what I know:
Atari Teenage Riot - single - possibly Sept.
(but probably not)
Christoph de Babalon - If You're Into It, I'm Out of It - Nov 3/Oct 20?
Curse of the Golden Vampire - s/t - Nov 17
Shizuo - new material - later in 1998
EC8OR - World Beaters - out now
Patric C. - solo album - no date
Gina (of EC8OR) with new group 'Cobra Killer' - album - no date
The Curse of the Golden Vampire - s/t - no release announced
Bomb20 - Field Manual - out now
Alec Empire - The Destroyer - Sept. 22
Bomb20 to play New York later in the year.
23.Sept.98 - Bomb20 is scheduled to play New York later this year, around Nov. The venue is supposedly CBGB's, but not much is confirmed yet. More as it surfaces.
EC8OR's
WorldBeaters in stores now.
23.Sept.98 - EC8OR's latest has hit US stores at last as of
August 26. 13 tracks of Amiga-based fun, it's on CD and 2xLP. A track listing is availble.
Bomb20's Field
Manual out now.
23.Sept.98 - Bomb20's latest is in US stores now as of August 11.
It is the first release from the DHR US branch and is out on CD
and 2xLP as DHR CD/LP 14. There are 20 tracks and a track listing is available.
DHR establishes US
branch.
23.Sept.98 - DHR US has finally gotten off of the ground. Based
in New York, it looks like the US will no longer get only select
releases from the UK operations. Albums from EC8OR, Bomb20, and
Alec Empire, as well as a compilation are all out now, with many
more in the works. The same numbering system is used for the US
releases as the UK ones, so hopefully we can expect a full
catalogue later. The press release is availble here. More as it becomes available.
- no news. -
- no news. -
15.Oct.98 - A small update - added two new US release dates.
08.Oct.98 - Added limited info on DHR LTD 006, Best of DHR LTD, and new ATR song.
30.Sept.98 - Added Christoph de Babalon release info for the U.S.
28.Sept.98 - I've started to put some of the cover art from various albums up - it's nowhere near being done and some of the links probably won't work - I"m still playing with names and formats. Anyways, if anyone wants to scan in art and email it to me, feel free - I'd like to get some high-quality full size images up eventually, but right now even thumbnails will do.
28.Sept.98 - Finally got my copy of the new version of The Destroyer, so the track list is finally correct.
24.Sept.98 - Quick update today - added link to Sonicnet's review of the US version of The Destroyer as well as the new cover art.
23.Sept.98 - Majour update - the entire first
page is new. Also, it is the first anniversary of the page.
Regular updates should resume now. Also, not everything is
finished being updated yet, and some links might not work - they
will, though... I'm also not done going through my mail and info,
so some fact are missing totally. You've been warned.
