has hit the stores. It's available on CD and 2xLP, and bears the

New EC8OR
album out.
08.Jun.98 - EC8OR's new album World
Beaters has hit the stores with the long lost catalogue
number of DHR 9. It's Patric and Gina's second full length on
DHR, and it's available on CD or 2xLP. A track listing is available.
Alec and Ice Cube?
08.June.98 - According to the MTV news site, Alec Empire and
rapper/actor Ice Cube have been trading tracks. Something may
come out of this union onto Cube's new album War and Peace,
which is due this summer. Thanks to Joseph Lentini for the email
about this.
Alec Empire to remix
Mogwi?
31.May.98 - I recieved a bit of info from Einar the other day
that Alec Empire may be remixing a track from the U.K. indie/rock
act Mowgi. No other info is available right now, and I'm almost
positive that I spelled Mogwi wrong... oh well...
New Bomb20 EP out.
31.May.98 - Bomb20 has recently (18 May) released an EP called Flip
Burgers Or Die!!!!!. It's five tracks long and is available
on CD and 12" as DHR 021. A track
listing is available.
Like-A-Tim album out on
Geist
08.May.98 - The new Like-A-Tim album, titled So What, is
out now on Geist records on both 2xLP and CD. Catalogue number is
GEIST 003. No tracklisting is currently available.
Carl Crack Releases Solo
EP.
01.May.98 - Atari Teenage Riot MC Carl Crack has just released
his first solo effort - an EP titled Black Ark. The
release is available on DHR Limited MCD and 12" as DHR LTD
005. Track list is available.
Live Sunjunkies EP a
possibility.
29.Apr.98 - The Sonic Subjunkies Molotov Lounge album is
due for release in late summer, but not on DHR. The album will
more than likely be released on by the British label Iris Light.
Thanks to News From the Digital World for the info.
Live Sunjunkies EP a
possibility.
06.Apr.98 - Rumour has it that there may be a live EP from the
Sonic Subjunkies on DHR Limited this summer. More info on this as
it becomes available. And thanks to News From the Digital World
for the info.
Nic solo effort also due
in summer.
06.Apr.98 - The solo release from the fourth member of ATR, Nic,
will hopefully be out during the summer. Nic joined the band last
year. Thanks to News from the Digital World for the release date.
Shizuo to remix
Pitchshifter... maybe...
06.Apr.98 - Shizuo is going to remix the band Pitchshifter - he
only need to track down a CD player first. It appears that he
recieved the samples via CD, and he doesn;t own a CD player... Go
figure... More on this as it comes in. Again, thanks to News from
the Digital World.
Alec to help out on new
Blues Explosion.
06.Apr.98 - Word has it that Alec Empire will help contribute a
track on the new Jon Spencer Blues Explosion album. Thanks again
to News from the Digial World.
Killout Trash to do
split 7", new Irritant.
06.Apr.98 - In the next few months look for a limited (500
copies) split 7" from Killout Trash, as well as
contributions to the next Audio/Visual Irritant. The split
7" will be with London's DJ Scud, who has worked with Shizuo
in the past, and will be on the label kool.POP. And for the
Irritant track look for a "super weird and slow dub
track," according to News from the Digital World, who
provided all of the above info.
Rope Hotel out now on
Geist
07.Apr.98 - Geist 002 is out on Alec's newest imprint, Geist
Recordings, and is called Rope Hotel. There are 8 tracks (track listing), and it is
available on CD and LP. Thanks to Kristof and Joe L. for the
track listings and info.
DJ 6666 releases Death
Breathin' with the Illegals
22.Mar.98 - Second new artist on DHR in as many weeks - out this
week on Digital Hardcore Recordings is DJ 6666 featuring the
Illegals with the album Death Breathin'. The album is available
on 2xLP or CD and the catalogue number is DHR CD/LP 012. As irony
would have it, DHR CD/LP 12 has 12 tracks, and the track listing is now available
courtesy of Johnny Victory.
EP out now from
16-17 on DHR.
17.Mar.98 - Now out on Digital Hardcore Recordings:
Human Distortion, the first DHR release by the band 16-17. It's a
4 song EP, and I do have the track
listing/prod. notes. The release is supposed to be fairly
noisy and way far out, more along the likes of Shizuo than ATR or
EC8OR... Thanks to Chris Rogue for the track listing and notes.
New EC8OR Single
Released... In Japan...
17.Mar.98 - News from DHR via Liz A. - the new EC8OR single has
been released, but only in Japan for the time being. DHR is
waiting until the album is finished before releasing the album
elsewhere. More on this as it becomes available.
2nd Release on Geist
Sub-Label Due In March.
25.Feb.98 - According to the new issue of the web fanzine News
from the Digital World, the second release from the new DHR
sub-label Geist Recordings is due in March. The album will
by Like-A-Tim and will be called Yeah Right. Amongst the
tracks on the album will be a cover version of ZZTop's song
"Legs" sung by Gina of EC8OR. More on this as it
arrives.
Patric C., Bomb 20 on
upcoming Electric Ladyland Vol. 5.
25.Feb.98 - Look for material from Patric Catani (of EC8OR fame)
and Bomb 20, as well as Techno Animal, Ice, Panacae, DJ Spooky,
and DJ Vadim, on the new Electric Ladyland compilation on Mille
Plateaux. I don;t have a release date on this one - it may be out
already...
Christoph Remixes Team
Dresch.
25.Feb.98 - Not much on this one, but word is that Christoph de
Babalon is doing a remix for the hardcore band Team Dresch for a
7 inch for the label Queercorps Records, due out sometime this
year. Thanks to News from the Digital World for the info.
Give Up's Fuck
Step '98 released.
20.Feb.98 - The latest release on Digital Hardcore Recordings
Limited is out. It's by Give Up, produced by Shizuo and it's
called Fuck Step '98. Catalogue number is DHR LTD 004 and
it's out now on 12" and MCD for about 5 pounds. It;'s got 16
unnamed (or rather unlisted) tracks and is just over 40 minutes. Production notes are available.
Also, as a side note, the album artwork features the same
three-fingered hand that is on the back of the Shizuo shirt that
was on sale during the US DHR tour (the 'Commit Adultery' shirt).
New EC8OR?
05.Feb.98 - OK. Apparently the info I recieved about
the latest EC8OR release, Until Everything, is false.
So.... possibly look for this soon: The first single from EC8OR's
new album Relentless Hardcore (possible name). The release
will be called Until Everything and is available at some
point soon on Digital Hardcore Recordings as DHR 018, on 12"
and MCD. No track listing as of yet...
7 Inch Riots 001
released... in 1995...
03.Feb.98 - Although this isn;t new per se, it's new to
this page, so it;s going here. Turns out in 1995 ATR printed 1000
copies of a 7" and handed them out at the Suicide Club. This
7" was 7 Inch Riots 001. There are two songs, one on each
side, and are as follows: Kids Are United (white side) (Live at
'Raw Soup' TV show, London, UK 2.11.93), Start the Riot! (black
side) (live at the Docks, Hamburg, DE, 6.10.94). Many many thanks
to Liz (who has scanned in the 7" onto her web site Harder
Than the Rest - check it out on the Links page below) who
provided all of this info.
New ATR album in the
works.
27.Jan.98 - Those little DHR boys and girls are pretty damn busy.
Turns out that Atari Teenage Riot is working on a new album. No
more info other than that, but I"m sure more will surface
eventually...
New Sonics album done...
26.Jan.98 - More concrete evidence has surfaced on the Sonic
Subjunkies full length album. Here goes... The album is done or
very near completion - it is titled Molotov Lounge and
will be coming out on a.//DHR (if everything goes well, which it
isn;t looking good right now, b.//another label that;s interested
or c.//Thaddi will release it himself if the above two don;t
work. Timewise the words 'two or three months' have popped up
repeatedly but Thaddi says that it could be much longer. Thanks
to Liz Alexander for all of the info.
Nic goes solo?
26.Jan.98 - Word on the net is that Nic, the 'new'
member of ATR, is working on a solo album to be released on DHR
later in 1998. More info as it comes - thanks to DJ Core for the
tip.
The Crack meets the...
21.Jan.98 - Apparently, the fifth DHR Limited CD is due to be
released about a month after Fuck Step 98, and will be a
solo effort from Carl Crack... more on this as it comes in...
thanks to Liz Alexander for this one...
Techno Animal + Alec
Empire =
18.Jan.98 - Yet another Alec Empire project... Alec has teamed up
with Kevin Matrin and JK Flesh of Techno Animal for a project
entitled Animal Empire. The trio has produced an album titled We're
Great but the Machines are Shit, which is due to be released
on DHR in March or April on CD and 2xLP. Thanks to Suckpop for
the info. More on this as the info becomes available.
Bomb 20's Field
Manual Nears Completion.
09.Jan.98 - Info about Bomb 20's new album has surfaced direct
from the source - David from Bomb 20 emailed me and let me know
that his full-length is nearing completion and will be titled Field
Manual. He has also recently put out tracks on the latest Electric
Ladyland comp. as well as Spite4 on Patric C.'s label and
will probably release something on dbn/ghettosafari. He has one
release out on Less Than Twenty, DHR's sublabel, entitled The
Choice of the Righteous, as well as a release on Force Inc.
called Pigtronics. More info as it becomes available.
16.Dec.97 - New ATR. Kind of. Atari Teenage Riot's Destroy 2000 Years of Culture is out on DHR (as opposed to the Intercord release) and is a limited release. There will be 200 12"s and 500 CDs pressed, and that's it. Retail price is the same as other singles, and the catalogue number is DHR 15. Track listing/prod notes coming soon.
03.Dec.97 - Well, it's not directly from DHR, but the Sonic Subjunkies, Christoph de Babalon, and Shizuo appear on the audio side of the new irritant (with 1, 2, and 1 tracks respectively. It retails for about £3.00, contains a magazine and 14 track or so tape, and is available at various places around London, including Rough Trade and Dragon Disks. About getting it outside of London, I'm not sure, but check out www.irritant.com - they should be able to tell you more there...
17.Nov.97 - DHR is REALLY spitting new stuff at us left and right... there were THREE releases this week. The latest is the new DHR LTD release, this time by Patric Catan (aka Patric C., from EC8OR). His release is called Snuff Out and has 7 tracks. It is available on 12" and MCD, and has the catalogue number of DHR LTD 003. The colour scheme on this one is orange. All of the tracks are new. And as for the track listing...
16.Nov.97 - Well, DHR is just spitting new stuff at us left and right... the latest full length is the new Alec Empire album, entitled Squeeze the Trigger. It has 13 tracks, is available on CD or 2xLP, and has the catalogue number DHR CD/LP 11. I do have the full track listing. Also included inside is a one-sheet catalogue, with a DHR collage on one side and the release catalogue on the other. It lists all releases except for DHR 8, 10, and 11, as well as listing DHR CD/LP 5 as by Patric C., DHR LTD 2 as by Safety Pin Sex, DHR 20 as titled Choice of the Righteous, rather than the previous Less Than Twenty, and misspells DJ Mowgly's name as DJ Mowgli.
16.Nov.97 - Also out is the new Shizuo release. It's an E.P., and is titled New Kick E.P.. It features the song New Kick, plus three new tracks. It is definately available on vinyl, and more than likely CD also. The catalogue number is DHR 17. I have the full track listing and production notes.
13.Nov.97 - The second DHR Limited release has hit the shelves - it is entitled No Savety Pin Sex E.P. and, although the artist isn't blatently listed DHR says that it is by Safety Pin Sex. As in DHR LTD 001, the production notes list one Alec Empire as producing it... The catalogue number is DHR LTD 002 (DHR LTDMCD 002 for the CD), is available on CD or vinyl, and sells for the price of a single, although the disc is almost 40 minutes in length, with 10 tracks (track listing/prod notes). The disk is done in blue, whereas Deathfunk was done in red, and has a small cartoon of a man being attacked shouting 'No Safety Pin Sex!'. I'm assuming the print run is 4000 - 2000 CDs and 2000 records, just like the first DHR LTD.
10.Nov.97 - For people wondering about DHR CD/LP 9, or lack thereof, (Christoph's album was 8, and Riot Zone was 10), apparently DHR considered EC8OR's release Spex is a Fat Bitch as both an album and an EP, and is therefore available as DHR 10 (the 12" single)/DHR MCD10 (the CD single), or DHR CD10 (the CD album/EP)/DHR LP10 (the vinyl album/EP). This seems confusing, but kind of makes sense...
03.Nov.97 - The latest DHR compilation has hit the shelves. It is a various artists release titled Riot Zone, will be available on CD or 2xLP, and has the catalogue number DHR 10. From the press release, it appears that we're getting 3 ATR tracks, 2 by Shizuo, 2 by EC8OR, 2 by Alec Empire, 2 by Patric C., 2 by Bomb2o, 1 by Hanin, 1 by DJ Mowgly, and 2 by Christoph de Babalon. The tracks all seem to be from prior releases, most still in print (the tracks that I'm not sure about right off hand are the Bomb 20 tracks, the Christoph de Babalon tracks, and the DJ Mowgly track). I do have a full track listing.
Oct.97 - OK - The Geist of Alec Empire (GEIST 001) is described (by Alec) as 'Not "Best of..." but rather "Best for..."' of Alec's work. It has tracks from the Electric Ladyland series (5 tracks), Les Etoiles Des Filles (3 tracks), Generation Star Wars (5), The Report Soundtrack (1), Low on Ice (5), Hypermodern Jazz (6) and 3 unreleased tracks. According to the liner notes, he felt that Mille Plateuax (who released all of the albums listed above (except maybe the Report Soundtrack, which I'm not sure of right now...) and he had kind of 'grown apart' and that it was time for him to leave (as far as I know there are no hard feelings between Alec and the label). He set up his own label, a sub-division of DHR, called Geist Records, which sports a logo featuring what looks like dead manga character. For the complete track listing, just click... Track Listing.
US/Canada.
Goodbye GR, Hello
Elektra.
18.Feb.98 - According to sources, DHR has dropped GR as their US
distribution and has gone to Elektra. In what way Elektra will be
handling DHR releases has not been confirmed yet ; there are
rumours that they may go as far as actually purchasing DHR, or
they could simply distribute them. It is looking like they will
continue the GR trend of releasing things hacked up and late, and
only get certain artists... Don;t look for anything from DHR in
the US until the summer, when the Alec Empire album will more
than likely be released. Also, the Christoph album will probably
not make it stateside, and if it does, it will be well over six
months from now... More info on this as it comes... And thanks to
the little Roach who told me all of this...
DHR to set up US branch.
17.Feb.98 - Well, Alec said it himself in the latest Spin - DHR
plans to set up a US branch, 'with or without Grand Royal.' At
this point, I think we know the answer to that... (see above).
When, where, and so forth I have no clue. More info as it
comes...
Hurricane Streets
released, ATR on soundtrack...
17.Feb.98 - Hurricane Streets, the winner of the Sundance(? -
either that or Cannes) Film Festival is out in the US, with ATR
featured on the soundtrack. The movie is currently in limited
release, but will go wide release soon.
Alec in the US. Maybe??
18.Jan.98 - Straight from the horse's (or Roach's, in this case)
mouth. According to sources straight from Grand Royal
Elektra, Alec Empire The Destroyer is slated for a Feb.98
Summer.98 release date. What wasn't clear is if this is a direct
port of the EU album (which is a few years old) or a combination
of The Destroyer and Squeeze the Trigger... more to
come on this...
Christoph in the US.
Maybe?
18.Jan.98 - Also straight from the horse;s (read: Roach's)
mouth... Look for a Christoph de Babalon full length to come out
sometime in 1998 (or 1999 or not at all) in the US. Again, what
exactly will be on this is unknown... I'd say expect a comp-type
thing...
DHR on Tour
ends.
23.Dec.97 - DHR on Tour is over. Say goodbye, everyone...
No further info on other tour activities. Maybe they should just
rest for a bit...
ATR on Hurricane Streets
soundtrack.
03.Dec.97 - ATR appear on the Hurricane Streets soundtrack doing
the song ATR. The soundtrack is out now on Mammoth Records, and
it;s pretty much one to skip unless you;re a completist... it;s
not a different version...
New ATR compilation
album to be released.
Rumouresque - Following the statewide success of ATR, Grand Royal
plans to release a follow-up to Burn, Berlin, Burn!. It
will be another compilation CD similar to Berlin, but
obviously featuring the songs that aren't on Berlin. The
only confirmed track is "Kids Are United." Release date
is unknown. Side thought on this one - between Berlin and Not
Your Business E.P., most of ATR's songs are out in the US
already. The one's that I can think of at the moment that aren't
are 'Kids Are United', 'Hunting for Nazis', 'Sex', and
'Cyberpunks are Dead'. 'Riot 1995' isn't, but the Deutschland
7" has 'Riot 1996'. Other than putting 'Raverbashing' and
the others from Not Your Business out in CD/LP form, what
(other than the ones that I've forgotten from Future of War)
will even be on this? B-sides? Just a thought or three...
29.Nov.97, 14.Nov.97 - DHR on Tour has hit the US (as of 14.Nov.97) with a bang. The tour is a 24-date, month-long ordeal features ATR, Shizuo, and EC8OR, and has been getting good reviews from the DHR fans that have seen the show so far. The show goes something like this - Gina and Patric (EC8OR) hit the stage, then D.Hammer (Shizuo) and various football players and dildo squirters, then ATR, with the new extended line-up of Alec, Hanin, Carl, and Nic (who runs electronics during the show) grap the stage for the final hour and a half of the show. The tour dates are on the live page. Everything is subject to change, but for the time being seems pretty stable.
Misc News.
Thaddi on the Airwaves
radio news - 20.Feb.98 - Thaddi of the Sonic Subjunkies has a
radio show in Berlin. The show airs every Monday Night, 23.00 CET
on 98 8 KISS FM BERLIN. I haven;t heard it myself, so I'm not
sure what he plays, but you can be sure that given the music that
he puts out, it;s got to be cool, so check it out if you;re in
the area...
DHR on Central Ohio
Airwaves
radio news - 20.Feb.98 - This is kind of old news, but J.Dante,
of no particular fame whatsoever, hosts a radio show out of
Westerville (read: Columbus), OH, that is primarily industrial,
but occasionally will play DHR artists. He's done mini DHR shows
(half hour blocks) in the past - I'll keep you posted if he plans
any in the future. You can catch the show, prh, and it;s
sub-show Riot Zone, every Friday night 10.00pm - midnight
on 101.5 FM WOBN Westerville, or check out his web page prhq
through the links page for more info.

Nic - the Lowdown on
ATR;s Newest Member.
band news - 26.Jan.98 - The lowdown on Nic - the joined ATR in
June of 97 to do 'Noise Control', which is basically doing
everything live that Alec would usually do, except for
porgramming, so that he can concentrate on vocals. She is listed
on the new ATR shirts as a member, and she is even working on a
solo album to be released on DHR later this year. Thanks to Usagi
Yojimbo, Matthew Ford, and DJ Core for various parts of the info.
#DHR IRC channel.
internet news - 01.Dec.97 - I have been informed that there is a
#DHR channel on Mirc on irc.isnet.is The channel is practically
just now starting up. I don;t have any other info on this, except
that currently most of the people who hang out there are from
Iceland, Holland, and Germany. Thanks to Einar (artech) for the
tip.
DHR Update Archive.
01.Aug.98 No news today, but explanations on
what's going on. I had a hard drive crash and lost everything a
while back. I just got back online, but I'm now leaving for a
7,000 mile, 6-week cross country trip. So don;t expect updates
for a while, since I will again be without net access. Sorry
about all of this, but you know how life can be sometimes...

US Alec comp to both the US news and rumour section, plus more
about DHR 15, plus updated the links page, plus updated the tour
page and the tour section on the index/news page... and maybe
more... who really knows...
16.Dec.97 20.37 GMT. Added info about DHR 15. Also, sorry about
the lack of stuff going on here. I've been in Scotland for the
last 5 days, and I'm moving halfway around the world in 3 days,
so don;t expect a whole lot...
05.Dec.97 00.11 GMT. Updated the tour page with correct/confirmed
venues. Also checked links and moved the dead ones to the dead
links section.
04.Dec.97 20.36 GMT. Added links to the new Cross Fade Enter
Tainment site and the upcoming Christoph de Babalon site, both at
c8.com.
03.Dec.97 02.16 GMT. Added info about the new issue of irritant,
added another bit to the #DHR bit, and added info on Hurricane
Streets. Also finally remembered to add that ATR is on Amp -
that's in the 'US misc. older news' section.
01.Dec.97 02.00 GMT. Added info about #DHR on Mirc. to the index
page.
29.Nov.97 21.43 GMT. Added more info about DHR on Tour on the
index page (the one you're on now). Also fixed a glitch in the
Misc. page. That's about it... it's been a slow week...
25.Nov.97 20.00 GMT. Added a site link and a RA interview link to
the links page.
19.Nov.97 17.23 GMT. Finished, and put up, the links page. Total
pages: 9.
18.Nov.97 01.14 GMT. Added prod notes for The Geist of Alec
Empire, added some info to Misc, started Archive page. Total
pages:8.
17.Nov.97 23.59 GMT. Added info on Patric C.'s new EP, Snuff
Out. Also added dates to the 'articles', although some news
(ie the US stuff) hasn't changed in so long that they are
remaining dateless. Also, I'm starting to modify the dates to the
format of having the month written out instead of using numbers.
This should make it clearer to all... I hope... I also changed a
few minour things... nothing majour...
16.Nov.97 20.00 GMT. Added info and track list for Alec's Squeeze
the Trigger, info, track list and prod notes on Shizuo's New
Kick E.P., and track list for Christoph's If You're Into
It, I'm Out of It, info about the new 'catalogue', and
correcting/changing/adding various titles and artist names.
16.Nov.97 14.10 GMT. Put a new counter up, as the old one read
almost 2 million hits in 3 days, and altered it to the last stats
that I saw, which were 191, on 14.11.97. Nothing new DHR-wise for
the time being...
15.Nov.97 20.17 GMT. Finally added the track listings for all of
the UK/EU releases except for the Christoph de Babalon full
length, which is avoiding my purchase... Also, the only US
release, other than the white-label stuff, that's not on here is
the EC8OR full length. Also, adding the US track listings
required another page, splitting the track/prod listings into
three pages - UK/EU singles, UK/EU albums, and US releases. Also,
checked all of the hyper-links, which all seem to be working.
Lastly, the counter at the bottom seems to be broken - it may
just be Geocities balking, though... in any case that's what the
broken image at the bottom is... Added info about bonus tracks on
The Future of War to the album track list/prod notes page.
Added various thanks. (total pages at this time:7)
13.Nov.97 00.58 GMT. Added info, track list for No Savety Pin
Sex E.P.
11.Nov.97 21.16 GMT. Finally reverted main page back to
Geocities, and the Tripod site will be deleted soon. Added info
on DHR CD/LP 11, and on the 'absence' of DHR CD/LP 9. Took the
info on Christoph's album down from paragraph size and added it
to the older news section. Also added to Misc section why I don;t
have an 'news archive' section, and modified the checklist of DHR
releases to incorporate the new Alec Empire album. Also added
more thanks to the Misc. page, as well as re-arranging it. Yeah.
In-between 24.Nov.97 and 10.Nov.97 - Added, in this order, the
album and singles track list/prod notes pages, then began work on
the links page, then the release dates page. Total pages at the
end of this period: 6
23.Nov.97 - Created this page, with the index (news), the
checklist of DHR releases, live listings, and misc. notes and
musings pages. Total pages: 4.
