TWIGGY INTERVIEW IN CIRCUS MAGAZINE

  • In an exclusive interview CIRCUS magazine interview, Twiggy Ramirez describes the public's perception to hs bands alter guises, and the new disc.

  • CIRCUS: How vain are you??

  • TWIGGY: I am very vain and I wear dresses more often off than on-stage!!!

  • But your hit Beautiful People is an open criticism about the beauty ideals favoured and hyped in series like BAYWATCH and 90210..

  • Thats different. We are against the beauty and fashion fascist regime that gats hyped in America and all over the world. "The Beautiful People" is NOT against the people who style themsleves in which ever way.

  • You came from the Florida death metal scene and said you like AC/DC..

  • Yeah, but that doesent mean that I want to record the same album over and over..When we are writing songs or recording them, we see ourselves as artists and we act out our creativity. On stage we are simply preformers and play different charecters. We are like indians who used different masks and paints for different rituals. When we are playing a gig I simply bacome Twiggy.

  • Don't you become a skitzophrenic with all those different charecters?

  • There is a bit of a certain force and it can become a bit skitzophrenic....yeah, I feel skitzophrenic lately...but it is so much fun to slip into different roles. We are not only entertaining and amusing out audience, we are also entertaining ourselves.

  • How far does that go?

  • Lately I started dressing up and camouflaging myself a lot even in my private life. When I go out I often wear a false beard or a mustache.

  • But why?

  • Maybe because you can behave like you want, do whatever you want when your not "yourself". You can act out all your evil dark sides without feeling responsible. It is not something Marilyn Manson created. Check out Mardi Gras and the way those people behave...

  • What did you do before you joined Mariyn Manson?

  • Our history starts with the band which existed five years already when I joined in 93'.

  • But you must have had a life before the band...

  • Marilyn himself was a journalist for example, but I think he just got so fed up with all the crap people fed him and listening to the same shit over and over he decided to do the talking.

  • A lot of people claim that you just constructed an image that sells..

  • We didn't construct an image as you phrase it. A lot of people say somehting and it doesnt mean it is true. A lot of people out there are simply jealous. Our fans know what we are and the rest are just plainly jealous or are vicious. 1
