Course of Empire
Vaughn Stevenson filled the role of singer and lyricist from the earliest days of Course of Empire until the end.  Traveling from North Carolina to Oklahoma and California, Vaughn ended up in Dallas, Texas. Remarkably, it was a flyer at the local record store (Metamorphosis) advertising for a vocalist "with an interest in vegetarianism and ideas concerning mass consciousness" that led Vaughn to call Mike Graff and Anthony Headley (the first drummer for the group). No one can dispute the unique onstage personality he exhibited or his talent for lyrical composition.

After Course of Empire
After Course of Empire ended, Vaughn vanished from the public eye and the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He currently lives near Austin with his wife and son.
