Course of Empire
Paul Semrad joined Course of Empire as their live bassist in July 1988 and soon became a full-time member, providing a dark counterpoint to Mike Graff's dominant guitar riffs. His influence is most clearly felt in songs such as White Vision Blowout and 59 Minutes. In addition, his backing vocals at the band's live shows enhanced those performances.

After Course of Empire
Paul has recorded some songs with a surf band called Nogo Express. In addition, he and his wife have a full time job raising their daughter Eva and son Jiri.
