WCFC Reaches New Heights in First Year

Saturday May 8, 1999

For those of you who anticipate an exciting and thrilling PPV next month, be certain that your expectations will be met. Wrestling Central Federation of Champions, or better known as the WCFC, is coming upon its one year anniversary next month. Although there is lots to talk about with respect to the growing popularity of the organization, it is worth noting that the WCFC has reached new heights with respect to its participants' involvement, as well as developing storylines that improve with each week. Can anyone actually think back to the original tournament where "The Franchise" Mike Coristine defeated Amazin' Mazin for the title??? Or who could forget the death of Bohen the Barbarian and his rebirth as Dangerous David Bohnen. Without a doubt, the WCFC has seen changes over the past year and most if not all have been to the benefit of the organization. In a year that witnessed real life pranks between feuding factions, staged fights in local schoolyards and expansion to different cities and even countries it is worth taking a moment to reflect on some of the top moments and biggest disappointments in a year that was "simply amazin'":

Top Moments of Year One:

- Who could forget the Zoo Crew as heel's and the introduction of Hunk of Dump as the Punk's tag team partner in Wrestlefest only to turn on him and join the ZOO CREW
- The dethroning of Sexy Kenny by Daredevil highlighted the end of a great title run
- The creation of the Tool Shed and a face turn for Vic Rattlehead has delighted many fans
- With a growing support the WCFC founded exciting characters like Justus Cleveland and "The Essence" Shawn Mecklinger
- Who doesn't love Kookamunda???
- Last Man Standing proved to be one of the best PPV's of all time!!!
- And who would have ever thought "Pretty Boy" and Ben Xeric would go face......Xeric's chair shot rocked the world!!!!

But even in a great year some things left fans disappointed...

- Bohen the Barbarian's inability to win a match at the PPV
- Big Mama's short title run left many disappointed as Sklar beat him at Passover Panic to regain the belt
- Who would have though Collosus had a mean streak in him?
- And recently, Dan Crank's new attitude, which has left many disappointed

Whether storylines left fans happy or sad, one thing is for certain, they were always interesting and full of action. Some characters shined more than others and some developed into fan favourites, but most if not all participants can take at least one interesting storyline from this year. Here is a year end report card for a selection of wrestlers.

Sugar Daddy - C+ - Good lately, but lacked a storyline early in the year
Sexxy Kenny - B+ - Always in the thick of things and instrumental in creating the featherweight division
Collosus - B - Great champion, but lacked personality
Kookamunda - B+ - Always kept the fans on their toes... needs to speak more
Justus Cleveland - A - Great on the mic, keep up the good work
The Punk - C - Not bad for a jobber, eh? Was involved in a few important storylines
Larry "The Ego" Millman - A - Developed from a lackey into one of the most important characters in the WCFC
"Big Mama" Joe Sling - A - Great character and storylines... held 2 belts but sometimes disappointed at the PPV's
Hey Stack - B - Good addition to Crew... provided good backup when needed... more character development is needed
"The Franchise" Mike Coristine - A - Great run for the first six months... production has declined lately
El Infierno - C - had good matches, but only got a chance to speak for the first time recently
Amazin' Mazin - B - had 2 internet title runs but needs to work on character development
The Oil Tanker - C - hasn't done much until recently
Dan Crank - B+ - great title run... a better catch phrase would improve his character

We all know that the 2nd year will be just as good as the first and all fans of the WCFC anticipate new and interesting storylines that should make the 1st year look sub-par...
Keep up the good work, and until next time, this is J. Pump signing off.
