Stacked Against All Odds

Saturday May 15, 1999

As the Zoo Crew's music fills the arena, the fans anticipate fan favourite Joe Sling or Hunk of Dump to appear at the ramp and do battle with a worthy opponent. However, not on this night... Tonight the fans witness a battle for the Internet Title between current champion Amazin' Mazin and #1 contender Hey Stack. With the fans excited for Hey Stack's appearance, the large 365 pound man makes his way to the ring, waits for the crowd to quiet down and takes the microphone. He doesn't utter a catch phrase that sends the fans into a frenzy, and he doesn't berate Mazin by predicting success in his upcoming match. He only utters a single word which by itself means so much more than most would realize. "HEYYYYYYYYYYYY" he screams and in unison the crowd bellows back "HEYYYYYYYYYYYY" and echoes his sentiments. That one single word is not just a reflection of the fans approval but it exemplifies the man they call HeyStack and what he means to the WCFC.

When Hey Stack first arrived in the WCFC months ago as a fan who wished to join the Zoo Crew, he was immediately cast as a follower, perhaps even the "jobber" of the Crew - whose main purpose was to make sure the Zoo Crew was dealt a reality check from time to time. For the first few weeks of Hey Stack's young career that opinion may have been correct. But as all us fans know strange things have been known to happen in the WCFC and in one split second the character of Hey Stack was changed forever.

On that memorable night when Dan Crank booted Hey Stack from the Zoo Crew due to his disappointing track record, his entire role in the WCFC changed forever. After joining the Crew's arch rivals known formerly as "The Federation," Stack became part of one of the most interesting storylines the organization has ever created. Well, we all know what happened after that. Hey Stack rejoined the Zoo Crew after a long drawn out battle and became part of a group that was now committed to celebrating with the fans instead of yelling profanities at them. By this time, Dan Crank had been a champion, Joe Sling had won the Internet belt and Hunk of Dump was showing signs of the creation of Hunkamania. In all the excitement, Hey Stack still managed to create a name for himself in an organization that had and currently has a surplus of talented wrestlers.

For a while Hey Stack teamed up with the Hunkster and together they formed one of the most formidable tag teams for the duration of a few months. Although still friends, Hey Stack has now taken it upon himself to allow the Hunkster pursue the Hardcore belt while Hey Stack has his sights set on the Internet belt. It is hard for the average fan to realize the implications of Hey Stack's pursuit of the Internet Title, but it must not be overlooked. Hey Stack is currently the most deserving of the Internet Title, and in my humble opinion, even more so than the current champion. There is no doubt that the man who they have nicknamed "Hey" wrestles with heart and not to mention a load of thunderclaps. He has certainly paid his dues and has always had the back of his fellow Zoo Crew members. A look at the current feud between Joe Sling and Dan Crank would prove this point. He is loyal, he has improving wrestling ability, and hey, he has "HEYYYYY!" Although he would never admit it, because that is just the type of guy that he is, Hey Stack knows deep down inside that given the chance to shine, he would do the Internet belt honour. His friends would attest to the fact that Hey Stack is an average guy, humble, and patient. Good friend and tag team partner Hunk of Dump had this to say, "Wow, what can I say about my good bud Hey Stack? Hmmm... all I know is that he eats his pudding and belches his prayers a hell of a lot." That's okay, Hunkster, we know what you mean. In addition, fan favourite and current Zoo Crew leader Joe Sling complimented the Stack and had nothing but good things to say. "You know the Stack has always had my back. Just look at how he protected me from Crank two weeks ago. I will always be loyal to him. I wish him the best of luck in winning the Internet belt because its time some gold was brought back into the Crew. He is one good guy who will never have to stare into my eyes on the opposing side of the ring." After hearing these comments, Hey Stack had this to say, "Hey, what can I say, I would save Joe again if I had the chance. Hopefully, I can come out on top at Wrestlefest and prove that I deserve to be called one of the elite wrestlers in the WCFC." Notice how he asks permission to be given that title. Well, Hey Stack, you've come a long way. Keep being patient and I am sure your time will come.

On this night, Stack doesn't win the belt from Mazin. Unfortunately, his match never finishes as he is attacked by the hated tag team of Sex and Candy. However, he knows that with the recent signing of a four way dance match at Wrestlefest for the Internet Title, that he will be ready and he won't disappoint. Hopefully he can be true to his words. It's going to take a lot to win the match but rest assured with the fans support and friends Joe Sling and Hunk of Dump to back him up, the Hey Stack's odds won't be so "stacked" against him.
