Dedicated to the support and promotion of independent music, Wampus Multimedia is home to Arms of Kismet, Mancini, Wampeters, Kowtow Popof, and, soon, to a growing roster of indie artists. Wampus purchased LocalMusicStore.com, a dominant online retailer in the indie CD market, on January 26. The acquisition gives Wampus access to a targeted database of indie music enthusiasts -- the fans who care the most about independent music. For artists who have marketed their work in the past through LocalMusicStore.com, Wampus is developing new programs to help them reach their audience. Wampus is interested not only in signing and producing new artists, but in marketing and distributing the existing work of artists seeking broader exposure. Wampus will announce details of its new signature and affiliate programs later this spring. For more information, visit: wampus.com.

The rumors are true...SR-71 has a new drummer! Those of you who know the band from way back, or saw the band during December of this past year while Dan was sick will remember John Allan. John is a Baltimore native and has been a long time friend of the SR-71 camp. Be sure and give John a big "Welcome" when you see SR-71 on the Bon Jovi tour this Spring. So what happened to Dan? It was a very amicable parting of ways. Dan still remains a very good friend of all of us. In fact, Dan will have some exciting news to share with all of you early next week!! We are
excited for Dan and wish him the best on his new endeavors!

By luck of the draw both days are starting out with high energy, almost poppy at times, bands that are pretty much guaranteed to kick things off in the “party mode” style that this whole weekend will reflect. Guild Of Ages have unfortunately pulled out of the show and have been replaced by top drawing Las Vegas local act Lazy Jane, featuring well known frontman Paul Lancia (Pair A Dice, Lancia). Lazy Jane will also help give the show a bit more of a “local” feel. Our meeting with KOMP Radio, Las Vegas’ only REAL rock station went phenomenally well. We’re going to be running ads with them starting the first of May and from next week we will be involved in a website promotion with the station (www.komp.com). In fact, KOMP dj Laurie Steele began pushing UltraSound 2000 like crazy this past week - woohoo!!!! Turns out that of all the brick and mortar radio stations that are on the ‘net (in other words, not “internet only” radio) they’re the most trafficked within North America and only second worldwide to a station in Europe. KOMP will be spinning the acts playing UltraSound 2000 on their weekend specialty shows and, provided the hotel gives the thumbs up, the station will be doing a remote from UltraSound during Saturday’s show. Again a reminder, the $105 rates at the Alexis Park are only good until the 27th of April. For those registering the day of the show, we ask that you please pay in cash, money orders or cashiers cheque. Sorry, no credit cards, personal cheques, poker chips or drink vouchers will be accepted - although chocolate WILL be considered ...(but probably rejected) Short and sweet this time. Dave” Visit the site at: www.egotripent.com for more information.
Connecticut-based, Hilary Cousins’ debut release, Continents Collide, is starting to generate the kind of attention typically enjoyed by major label artists. “Radio seems to be quite impressed with the level of depth that Hilary’s’ music contains,” states Donny Walker, Talent Recognition Services (TRS) Director of Artist Development and Senior Partner. “I’m not surprised at all, by the reaction we are getting from stations normally committed to larger and more widely known artists.” One listen to “Continents Collide” makes it absolutely clear that Hilary Cousins is a refreshingly passionate new artist.
Some upcoming Balistic shows include: 4/27 at Woody’s in New Oxford; 4/29 at Tourist Inn in Hellam, PA (for Metalfest 2000); 5/13 at Shooters Crossing in New Holldan, PA; 6/2 at Tourist Inn in Hellam, PA and 6/3 at D’Alexanders in Lebanon, PA.
The following is part of a Marvelous 3 update from Jan. 30: “Oh my god, look what the cat dragged in (wait, that was a Poison song...)! How the heck are ya?!?!?! Well we’ve woken up from our winter slumber, after a much needed break from the road last year. We also woke up and came to some important conclusions... sh*t! We need to make a new record!!! So off to the studio (Butch’s place) we have gone, to record a new piece of MARVIE history for you to chill with. I would expect it to come out in late spring-early summer (i know that seems like a long time, but this record is a little more...um...“more”.. so we needed the extra clockage, dig?). You will not believe the new stuff! It sounds amazing, and it will be well worth the wait. You can preview some samples of a few new working tracks on the website ( www.themarvelous3.com ), and we will post more later. There are gonna be some kool, special guest-star appearances on the record, so keep posted for that as well. ReadySexGo is the name of it (we think). Before you get your panties (or whatever you sport) in a wad, let me explain the title. It’s kind of a stab at how everybody got so uptight in the 90’s and then all of the sudden, everybody is all about sex, drugs and, well, whatever... so we decided to kind of take a light-hearted look at the scene. Don’t think we are being sexist... if you know us... you can get the joke...whew...I feel better now..anyhow, on to more news. We will probably head out on the road for a pre album tour, that will go all spring, so keep posted to our website for soon to be released dates! We also kinda got behind on our website, but go figure.. We were busy making music for you, and we don’t like anybody doing shit for us, so we are sorry for the outdated site. We assure you that something new is in the works, and by the time you get this, we will have some new design, art, pics, audio, video, news, merch, farm animals, fan stuff, etc. up and running! We’re also gonna have a webcam set up in the studio (MARVTV) and you will be able to see us working on the record (you’ll probably see us eating most of the time). You will be able to log on to this via the website. Hope you will go there and check it out!!! Remember, kids, the site is at www.themarvelous3.com so don’t delay. Also know, that we get all of your emails, and actually read them, but don’t always get a shot at responding (i mean, come on... that would take all damn day... we gotta record to make). but we love hearing from you, and we will always try to get back with everybody (cuz we’re kool like that). Well, we’re off like a prom dress, to the studio. See ya in 2000, and thanks so much for keeping up with us... this next year is gonna be pretty huge for us, so please come see us... We love ya!!!! Peace out!!! Whole lotta marvie love, butch, jayce, and slug.
Hypocrisy is workin on a new album. It is going to be faster than the last one. They hope to have it out by August.

Another new signing to report about is Swedish band Dogface. - I am very excited about this band after taking part of the songs they submitted to us sez MTM managing director Mario Lehmann, and feel that we can expect a much awesome debut by end of this year from the band. The band is lead by guitar wiz Martin Kronlund and features the great singer Mats Leven (known for his work with Yngwie, Treat among others). New York City’s E-Magine Entertainment, an internet-centric record label, is proud to announce the signing of the techno-industrial rock band Rorschach Test to an exclusive recording contract that includes all distribution channels. Composed of vocalist James Baker, programmer/keyboardist Troee, guitarists Tracy Moody, and percussionist Adrian Ost, the Seattle-based industrial visionaries mark the label’s first signing of the new millennium. Rorschach Test’s 1996 debut effort, The Eleventh, first revealed the band’s unique electronica grinds, but it was 1998’s release, Unclean, that showcased the band’s signature hooks and techno explosions. Unclean and the upcoming album, Peace Minus One will be available through E-Magine’s Web Site at: www.emaginemusic.com.
Tidewater Grain, a rollercoaster of sonic force and live energy, announced their first set of East Coast dates today including romps with 3 Doors Down as well as Jimmie’s Chicken Shack. Serving more than just a dose of down n’ dirty rock n’ roll, Tidewater rub your face in it and then make you feel good about it. Comprised of hyper-charismatic and riveting vocalist Kevin McNamara, guitarists D.L. and John Daly, bassist Dave Fritz and drummer James Billington, the band has been quickly building a reputation for their intense and dramatic live shows. Just named Buzz Band by the Aquarian Weekly, Tidewater lives out a full on “sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll” credo, offering songs that paint sharp outlines of emotion and ponder all very honest and human questions. Live, they deliver with a sense of total abandon and irreverence in way people don’t soon forget. The band’s first as yet untitled album is set to drop early this summer on Ruffnation / Warner, boasting production from Kevin Shirley, who helped define the sounds of such rock luminaries as Aerosmith and the Black Crowes as well as Silverchair. Several tracks on the new album feature Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple) guesting. The results are gripping, edgy, and dark; powerful driving music that’ll have you going cross country even if you only meant to go across town. April 28 - 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. w/JCS; 29 - Curry College in Milton, MA w/JCS; and 29 - at Babson College in West Haven, MA w/JCS.
