•Metal Massacre Released On 6/14/82 Compilation of songs by L.A. metal bands released by Brian Slagel. "Hit the Lights" was the last
song. James sang, played rhythm guitar and bass guitar. Lars was on the drums and Dave Mustaine was lead guitar.

•No Life 'til Leather demo recorded Contained "Hit the Lights", "Motorbreath", "Jump in the Fire", "The Mechanix" (The Four
Horsemen), "Metal Militia, "Seek & Destroy", and "Phantom Lord." Ron McGovney was now on bass.

•Plays San Francisco and later makes live demo Metal Up Your Ass. •First Jam Session w/ Cliff Burton on 12/28/82.

1983-1984

•Move To San Francisco and Live w/ Manager of Band Exodus (Kirk's Band)

•Go To Rochester, NY to Record Kill 'Em All Johnny Zazula, after hearing No Life 'till Leather, contacted Lars to gig and record on
East Coast.

•Kirk Replaces Dave Mustaine On Lead Guitar.

•"Kill 'Em All for One" Tour w/ Raven.

•European "Seven Dates of Hell" Tour w/ Venom.

•Ride the Lightning Recorded in Copenhagen.

•Sign w/ Elektra.

1985-1986

•US Tour w/ WASP and Armored Saint.

•Master of Puppets Recorded in Copenhagen.

•Open Act For Ozzy Ozboune's "Ultimate Sin" Tour.

•Cliff Burton Killed In Bus Accident. Happened on way from Stockholm to Copenhagen at 6:30 AM 9/27/86.

•Jason Newsted Replaces Cliff Burton On Bass Guitar.

•Five-Date Tour of Japan.

1987-1988

•Garage Days Re-Revisited EP Released.

•Cliff 'Em All Video Released. Dedicated To Cliff Burton

•First Metal Band to Perform at Grammy Awards. 2/89
