Jim's Big Ego is a folk rock band led by the master songwriter and nice guy Jim Infantino. Jim resides in Mass. You may spot him chillin' with folk friends Ratsy, Vance Gilbert and Martin Sexton...yet how many folkies do you know who rights songs about underwear "I wear underwear/she told me/I hate the word Panties" He croons on his fourth CD (a live one)entitled Titanic. Just to let you know how groovy he is...it is evident in the story of HOW I DISCOVERED JIM...
One Day...I entered the store Hear Music in my local mall, Jim's Big Ego's first album as a band, "More Songs about Me" was on display with a set of headphones. After only 30 sec. of listening (mostly the first few seconds of each song) I fell deeply in love...I payed 17 dollars for that CD and It was by far one of my greatest investments. Listen to it. It be good.
I had the great pleasure of seeing Jim play solo in Middletown Ct. It was in a book store and he was not plugged in at all, no mic even...I later met the guy and he was all friendly. It was a great night. He had to kick some sucker out for yelling stuff a lot. I feel for that guy for not being able to listen to Jim's mix of folk rock, jazziness, punk folk and all that stuff that makes Jim what he is...most of which I am not able to describe...mostly cause i'm not feeling poetic. But I hear there is a new album due out in the Spring...Alls I need to say is...Do yourself a favor and cough up the money...you'll thank me.
