Jon grew up in Park Rapids, MN where he met Chris and Jed at age 7. Picked up bass guitar in 1990 and by the fall of that year, started to play along with Rich, Chris, and Jed.
Jon was in Ripchord until December of 1994 when he decided to serve his country and joined the U.S. Navy. There he was a gas turbine system mechanic on the U.S.S. Simpson (FFG-56). After four years, he decided to leave the navy and further his education at North Dakota State University, taking up the field of Mechanical Engineering.
Once back in the heartland, he found his old friends (Jed, Chris, and Rich) playing in a bar and has helped out in whatever way possible since then.
Jon enjoys playing bass and soccer, snowboarding, riding motorcycle, working on his truck, and just hanging with the guys.
