It's been nearly 10 years since I forgot the password to my geocities account, and then today out of nowhere it came to me. Things have certainly changed since I first created this site back in 1997. Yngwie is still recording and performing, so that's a positive note. The fact that he toured with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai in G3 is a testament of the company he keeps. I honestly can't believe that this page wasn't retired by some web admin after having been left untouched for more than nine years. NOTICE: Yngwie Malmsteen (ing-vay molm-steen) is a Swedish born guitarist who has been recording and touring diligently for the past 26 years or so. The style of music has been dubbed 'neo-classical metal' and while there have been other musicians to rise to fame within this genre, there is little question that Yngwie J. Malmsteen is the King. Anyone who cannot see the brilliance of his works over the years should be flogged. My son's given name is Joseph Yngwie (yes... really), so you know I'm serious about the flogging. While I doubt that I'll have the time to sequence additional midi files for this site, I do have numerous midi files that people have sent me over the years, which have been piling up in my mailbox while I was unaware of the password. I had attempted to recover the password long ago but I had registered with a different e-mail address and yahoo's online password reset stated that it couldn't be done online. Do you have any idea how much e-mail you get in 9 years? It's astounding! Ah well. I've rattled on long enough. Click here to access the Yngwie midi files page. I'll be updating the Original music section when I find some time. For the moment the page remains the same, however. Links to other sites on the Web The Yngwie Malmsteen Fan Club (official) web page is a GREAT place to check out for Yngwie info, pics, links, and much more. Brian Farrell is a good friend of mine whose guitar influences are George Lynch, Yngwie, and maybe a little Satriani. His latest project landed his band UnderShadow on the Power-Prog CD that was given out at Prog-fest. You should check it out, even if he's almost as lazy about updating his site as me. (he rocks) Joe Satriani is an guitarist that has grown tremendously over the years as both a musician and composer. He never ceases to amaze me with his creativity. You are number to visit this page since it's creation on November 21, 1997 Feel free to drop me some e-mail and share your ideas and suggestions. This site last updated on August 18, 2008.
