*Born: Heswall, Cheshire - May 14, 1962.
*Lived in Meryside & Scotland.
*Family emegrated to Canada (Hamilton-area) in 1973 - where Ian was first exposed to the American Indian on the Six Nations Reservation.
*Joined the army, then bailed 28 days later. He was disillusioned with the brutality.
*His mother died (cancer) on his 17th birthday. He moved back to England adopting his mother's madien name: Lindsay.
*Formed bands in Glasgow and Belfast (First band being 'Send No Flowers').
*Ended up in Bradford, where he began singing for the 'Southern Death Cult'.
*Left S.D.C. in 1982, because the band didn't want to experiment musically. Also, they were only in it for the money.
*Moved in with Billy Duffy in 1983 and formed the 'Death Cult', later known as 'THE CULT'.
*Reverted back to Astbury.
*Broke up with the CULT, because Billy didn't want to get too funky/disco-ish with the music.
*Formed 'Holy Barbarians'.
*Has at least two kids; Justin James Astbury and i don't know the other one's name.
*He also got divorced from his wife in 2000.
*Holy Barbarians folded when Ian & Billy reunited the Cult.
